Kayak Starved Rock Campground offers rustic, no-frills tent camping and a variety of kayaking experiences on the Illinois River near Starved Rock State Park. It is a great location for families wanting to be close to outdoor attractions. The campgrounds are well-kept with sites featuring a firepit and picnic table, and bathrooms are porter potties that are well-maintained. The kayaking itself is often described as blissful, peaceful, and breathtaking, with calm water and scenic views of towering bluffs and wildlife. Guests can bring their own kayak or rent one by the hour or day, launching directly from the grounds. However, the camping experience has significant drawbacks. The sites are very close together with little separation or shade, and the campground is not secluded. It can get crowded and loud, with noise from other campers, live music from a neighboring marina until late, and loud freight boats on the river at night. Some guests reported issues with noise enforcement. There is no access to potable water, which is an inconvenience. The gate is closed around 9 PM but can be reopened. Overall, it provides good accommodations for a rustic camping and kayaking base, but potential visitors should be prepared for a lack of privacy and possible noise disruptions.
Everything is fine, just need water for all types of use🏕

Great location for families who want to be close to Starved Rock State Park, the water Park and North Utica. Great location and good accommodations in the condos!
Rooms: We stayed in the condos through an AirBNB and were very happy with the lodging!
