This Citibank location is very poor. In January 2024, there was a promotion for a 6 month 5% interest on your money. So I put money in an account. Unfortunately, they were very poor at managing and I never got interest on my money. After 6 months and no interest paid, I tried contacting them to find out what happened. They were of no help whatsoever. It got to the point where I went to the manager of the Arlington Heights road location. She fixed it for me within a week. I don’t recommend anyone to go to this location.

Wanted to inquire on custodial accounts. The website do not provide any information. Called 3 branches: AH, Palatine, BG and it all goes to Member Center. MC representative has limited information, she is reading something of the screen, she does not know what she is talking about. She mentioned that CB offers savings, checking and Certificate of time deposit for miners but she has no idea what are the limits, charges, rates, restrictions. NOTHING. I demended to be transferred to the Branches, he keeps offering appointments, in this day and age that you have to get in your car just to get information? She tried to get 3 branches on the line and she couldn’t. She told me I can not leave my phone number and be called. It was a mission impossible for that task. Why? She started mumbling about other accounts, with $30 000 limits, I asked her if she is sure we are still talking about custodian accounts. She could not help, Branches does not respond. I do not believe banks are that busy that you can not take 5 minuts to call back. Very weird institution. Disrespectful and lazy. No customer service.

This place is an absolute joke. Doesn’t open up on time. Bank clerk won’t open doors saying they’re “moving slow” this morning. Says come back later to then say they’re system isn’t up today and to go elsewhere. Might as well be a big cardboard box that says CITI BANK on the front. Waste of my time and if you go there it will be a waste of yours.

Middle of the afternoon and they have 1 teller and 1 manager on duty, the manager that can't get on a register and help people, but instead stands there asking if people want to open different kinds of accounts. An almost 40 minute wait for a process that takes 3 minutes. Either hire more tellers and pay them a livable wage or close this branch down.

I came to the branch to add a trust to my checking and savings account. Seems pretty simple and straightforward. Two trips, 1.5hrs to sign several documents, and then two phone calls that said they can’t do what I asked and saying I need to come in to sign more documents. Unbelievable. Clearly don’t know what they are doing. My wife is handicapped so coming in the branch is a big hassle but they made it clear they did not care. Deciding if I continue with them or go to a competent competitor.

Palatine has a large Polish community, but there are NO Polish-speaking bankers or tellers in this branch.

It's frustrating to use this branch. Although the employees are nice, friendly people, they are stuck using outdated/ dysfunctional software. After all why else would it take 30 minutes to do a withdrawal that should only take 3-4 minutes?

I recently made deposits in both a new checking and savings account, have had questions and the fellow setting up my account has not returned my call after leaving a voice mail. I'm going to close the account and find another bank. This type of impersonal bank service is irresponsible.

The Citibank team at this branch, specially the Branch Manager Judit are amazing! they helped me with some complex changes and their service was above and beyond anything! They looked out for me and what suits my situation in the best way. I definitely recommend this Citibank branch for any and all banking services.

The Citibank system has the worst customer service and tech support of all the companies I regularly deal with. I have given them this feedback directly, multiple times. Palatine NW Hwy branch has short hours, and are short-staffed. The employees are nice individuals stuck in a dysfunctional system. I would not recommend it to anyone needing to open a new account.

Apparently to actually bank at a Citi bank location, you can't work a normal 9 to 5 job, as they open at 10 and close at 5!

Over the phone customer service is a nightmare you'll be waiting on the phone for hours and getting transferred literally across the world. No surprise they lost 500 million dollars. No one knows what they are doing in this bank.
