Retail Stores are difficult to review, because it's all about the layout, mobile site, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. Home Depot is no different from any other home remodeling store, except I find their stores are much easier to locate items than other stores. I can be in and out of the store in 10mins because it's easy to navigate. For those who don't shop at Home Depot very often, then your smart phone will be your best friend. Simply search their site for product (make sure you to have the right location) and in return their site will provide the aisle and Bin#. Super Helpful. A store isn't a great store without great employees. I had a question about a product and one of their employees took his time to explain the pros and cons of several different products depending on the nature of or current situation. This allowed us to make a sound decision on which product to purchase.

This rating has nothing to do with this stores employees or products. It has everything to do with their service install provider DRF. If you buy a hot water heater they will give you a number for DRF. Be prepared that i stalling a hot water heater may be rather straightforward- however, DRF will state that their installation starts at $1.100.00. Thats $400 more than the unit itself. Customers need to beware. Find an installer on your own. Total with installation should be $1200 -$1400.

I've had mixed experiences at this Home Depot, but I found Darrel today and he is the man. He answered all our questions in Paint and then we watched him direct 3 other customers to find the things they needed throughout the store. He knew exactly where things were which has NEVER been my experience at this store. Thanks for all your help Darrel!

Check why people go to Home Depot I had a positive experience at Home Depot with a variety of wood and plants available. I was in need of one very small piece of wood, that one piece of wood I got from the scrap, I got it without being charged. Staff cooperated me. I saw many good plants in garden over there , So I decided to buy . At the enterance I saw tomato plant support cage and took four . Overall, it seemed like I found good staff and a wide selection of products.

I love the store so much they're out of the garden section is literally the best in the area so surprising comparison had some local nurseries. That's how great it is. I really like the flower baskets and the succulent section as I was really not expecting to see such a wide variety, it made my day to know that's such a great variety of plants and gardening items are available a short distance from my home. Thank you.

I used to always shop at this store but now I am going to Ace. I went there the other day for dowel rods. 4 different staff members were unable to tell me where they were. Half of them didn't know what they are. This is a hardware store?!?! I eventually walked up and down the aisles until I found them myself. Many of the staff are standing around talking or looking at their phones. The caliber of staff and helpfulness has really decreased over the past few years. They do have a nice selection and clean store, but it does no good if nobody can help you find anything.

I am always in awe of how helpful some of these Home Depot employees are when I have questions about anything and everything Home Depot related - installing string lights, fixing things around the house, and this time, painting! Matt (in the painting department) was super helpful in answering all my questions, pointing me to all the materials I needed, the expensive and the cheaper options. As a first time painter, I didn't even know all the questions I needed to ask. I showed him what I was planning to do, and he gave me even more tips...things I would never think of! It seems like every time we come to Home Depot, 4/5 times we'll talk to an employee who has experience in what we're trying to do and great advice with how to do it and what materials we'd need for buy for it. With their expertise alone, I wonder why they don't get paid more. Thanks Matt and Home Depot for a great experience.

I have always purchased paint from this Palatine Home Depot in the past, as there use to be some very good managers and employees (Angelo, Steve, Jinsu & Paul in that department. However, since Paul (the remaining Mgr.) left about a year ago, the service has really gone down. Now it seems that it is impossible to actually match a paint color with their scanner and that friendly/helpful service they use to have, is gone. As a result, I have purchased my paint from Menards in Long Grove, who are really much better.

For the love of God do not use Home Depot online! I have been going through hell trying to get patio furniture delivered. My tracking information, my emails, and every time I call and Associate, has different details. I was just advised that if my patio furniture that was supposed to arrive yesterday, does not arrive in another seven days, I will be issued a refund. Nobody knows what they're doing and this company is so unorganized it's embarrassing.

I wanted to recognize Aaron, one of the Store Managers of the Palatine Home Depot. He truly understands customer service and should be commended for the way he conducts himself and how that store is ran. If it wasn't for him I would go elsewhere.

The home Depot has been in my town for awhile. I like the employees and their knowledge of the store and their knowledge with many household building needs. We went to the paint department in search of stain which turned out to be discontinued, Liza helped pick a product and tint it to match exactly what we were working with, her help was much appreciated and i know where i will be coming next time i need custom paint. I also really like the self propelled Ryobi mower, which I bought here. Thank you Jerry and Maura for the info and extra part that was missing!

I like this store. It always has products in stock. It is clean, organized and well maintained. There are always knowledgeable employees available to answer questions. I always find them very polite and helpful. From guiding you to locate a product, giving suggestions on how to do a project and which materials would work best, or assisting you to load your car, they always do it with a smile and "glad to help."

I genuinely enjoy this store. The staff are helpful, and the store almost always has exactly what I am looking for. While on the pricey side for some items, compared to other big-box hardware stores in the area they are a good and reliable place to shop.

Item I ordered got to store at 5:32 am on 10/1/20 Status of order says should be able to pick up on 10/1/20. Called store at 2:00pm on 10/1/20 and they stated they do not unload the truck until at night.. They need to either unload the truck when it comes in or state something differently as to when it should be able to be picked up. Bad system. They lost any future orders from me.
