“One of the oldest and most respected autobody shops in the Peoria area. I've been bringing my cars n trucks here for 30 years David and the team at Downing's always do a top notch job. It started 30 years ago with a full repaint of my Chevy Camaro, very reccently my 1971 VW Westfalia camper bus got a dent in the engine bay door that David fit in his schedule just in time to be repaired just before an invitation only car show my bus was invited to participate iness than a week from now and my my Ford expedition has been here three times now, one time for a huge 10 point buck my wife hit at 70 mph head on on 474 near Creve Coeur that nearly totalled it. Always courteous and top notch work. Thanks guys, Oh yeah Wayne one of the repair technicians has been here as long as I can remember and he knows his stuff. Downing's Campustown Autobody has always been a family owned business started by a great man Roger Downing many moons ago. Roger also was very creative i still remember when he combined a 68 Chevy ElCamino and a modern Chevy SS Camaro to create the ElCamaro. It was amazing!!!!!!”

“Hit a deer back in December, had to twist some arms at the insurance agency, but the shop was GREAT. A little slow due to backorders, but that's not their fault in the slightest. They kept me updated and Informed. As for the finished product? Incredible. The paint matched exactly. No pooling of the paint or anything. Ended up with a new hood, bumper, hood hinges, radiator supports, quarter fenders, windshield and a few others. Finished product looks better than how it did before I hit the deer! Will absolutely bring my vehicles back here if I need body work done.”

I usually do not recommend painters to anyone because they seem to be inconsistent in quality or time but I send everyone who asks to this shop because I know they will be taken care of. “Had techs come out and do an in the field replacement of my windshield. Both that I worked with were very professional and kept in good communication so I knew exactly what was going on. They arrived when expected and worked quickly and efficiently. I did have some small issues with the install (I won’t discuss them because they were honest mistakes and I understand people aren’t perfect). When brought to the store’s attention, they jumped right to making sure everything was made right. I insisted they not go above and beyond, but they insisted harder that they would. This is a business with integrity and customer service. I will absolutely go to them again if/when I need auto glass work done.”

“I brought my 2009 Toyota to BOB at Maaco because the vehicle condition was unsavory. The previous owners had a family so the exterior of the vehicle was showing some abuse. Bob & his team of professionals did a wonderful job removing dents, scratches, & other imperfections. (They also shower you with gifts of water, pop, or candy, lol) The time frame was acceptable as well. As far as communication, I gave Bob an acceptable amount of time & I can say he did his job of contacting me when it was necessary. Despite a couple flaws that he took care of at his time & his expense, I was happy with the quality of work done to my Toyota. I believe Maaco was more than fair in correcting their flaws. The van, now, looks pretty impressive & I would recommend this location & Bob & his team to others wishing for the same good experience. Bob's attitude was really good & they treat you the way customers should be treated. Thanks Maaco!”
