Guests highlight the extremely clean rooms and whole property, with rooms also being very spacious, comfy, and nice, particularly toward the back of the hotel. The staff receives praise for being excellent and always checking to see if anything is needed. Its location on the south end of town offers convenience, being only a 30-minute drive to areas like Waterloo, Belleville, and St. Louis. However, some note the front rooms previously needed remodeling and that the stated breakfast can sometimes be unavailable, with a McDonald's directly across the street. The policy of no refunds for date changes is also mentioned.
My mother stayed here while I attended the annual Fort de Chartres Rendezvous. She loved it. She said the bed was comfy and it was in close proximity to the fort. I would have preferred to stay here rather than my tent on the park grounds!
