“Vanessa at the Rolling Meadows location is the ONLY reason for this 5 star review. She is truly a special individual and a genuinely kind person who went above and beyond to help us in every way possible. She was fantastic!
Unfortunately, our experience with U-Haul as a company was the complete opposite. We reserved a 10' one-way truck well in advance for my daughter's college move. During the week leading up to the move, we were called repeatedly—sometimes twice a day—changing the pickup time, location, truck size, or some combination of the three. My daughter, my wife, and I all called multiple times trying to get things straightened out. Each time we thought we finally had a plan based on U-Haul's availability, we'd get another call the next day changing it again. The entire reservation and customer service process was an absolute disaster.
U-Haul as a whole gets 1 star from me. Vanessa gets 5. She turned an incredibly frustrating experience into a positive one, and U-Haul is very fortunate to have her at the Rolling Meadows location.”
