“Staff is very kind and helpful with my pets and they explain bills and have all the answers to the questions I’ve had. I like to go when it’s not too busy. Prices are fair and reasonable. The vet is very kind and welcoming. Attends the pets with care and handles them properly. Would recommend to everyone I know but the office is not taking new clients.”

“I have been taking my dogs to MAH for over 20 years. They are great. Our rescue pup has needed 2 dentals and has had to have teeth removed and they have done a good job. They provide pain meds, antibiotics and anything else that is needed to help him heal. He does not seem traumatized when he comes home, and he heals quickly. They always call to check on him and making check up appointments is super easy. Always happy with my visits.”
“We would highly recommend Wauconda Animal Hospital! They really care about your pets. We take our chocolate Lab there and have never had any issues. Dr. Nemmers, in particular, is a terrific Vet, but the others are also very, very good and so are the Techs who work there.”
“My 4 month old Labrador Retriever, Hooper, absolutely loves Dr. Marx. She is AMAZING with him, and of course he LOVES when she wears her sparkly shoes! The entire practice has been outstanding since I got him. I know my puppy is in great hands under their outstanding care. This practice is excellent at handling last minute appointments and very responsive to any inquiries. I look forward to watching Hooper grow under their care and nurturing.”

“Love these guys. I’ve been a customer of the Grayslake Animal Hospital for 16 years. All three of my cats got care from Dr. Kevin Marion. He’s such a wonderful vet and a very nice person. He was always upfront with me about illnesses and treatment plans. They even worked with me financially if the expense was over my budget. There’s an after hours on call Vet that I’ve had to call sometimes. They were wonderful in fitting me in for mild emergencies the next day. I can’t say enough good things. I highly recommend this place.”

“My little dog is a rescue and she is very skittish, but she was completely calm with the Dr. He is incredibly caring and has a gentle calming demeanor. He was born to be a veterinarian! I love Lakes. We did have to wait a couple hours to be seen, but it was totally worth it.”

I have a reactive dog and I was extremely greatful for the pre-surveys and carefulness put into making sure my Mimzy felt safe and comfortable. Dr. Makofski was very kind and open to my questions and concerns. I really felt welcomed and my Mimzy behaved so well; and while I would love to give her all the credit, the staff had a huge part to play by taking the time to get to know her! Would 100% recommend this animal hospital!!! A very satisfied furever customer!!!
10.14 Update: I had to take in my dog for what I originally thought was a broken nail (turned out to be allergies). Dr. Smizinski and Vet Assistants handled Mimzy with care, especially when cutting her nails. I was very thankful for their help and patience in answering my questions and approaching Mimzy at a pace she was comfortable with. At previous clinics, I always felt like I had to push the staff to answer questions or check something, and at VHAH I can tell your staff are experts at what they do plus they have the patience with pets and owners to ensure a satisfactory visit. I am just happy that Mimzy is feeling better and we may soon have a solid treatment plan for her skin issues so thank you so much!”

“I took my pups in for their first visit on the 14th of march. I have 2 pomeranians, female 10 months and male 8 months old. The reason for the visit, my 10 month old female has bilateral luxating patellas, grade 3. She was diagnosed by a different vet. The first suggested surgery in May when she is a year old and her growth plates closed. I went to the Shore for a second opinion. My second pup was along for the ride.I was so happy with the enthusiasm and care i recieved there. They loved my pups and the pups loved them. They were on board with my choice in holistic care for them and even helped me with recipes for homemade dog food.Outcome is no surgery at this time, and see how she progresses with exercise and mild manipulation. Essentially continue doing what I've been doing.The office is clean and does not smell like wet dog. They treat exotics as well as offering alternative therapy such as acupuncture and chiropractic care. All of this is the reason i will be transferring the care of my pups to them, even though it is not close to my home.”

“Wonderful truly caring staff. Dr Blackwell, Lori is amazing !! We found this office researching patellar luxation, floating kneecap, surgery. They took so much care and time with our pup he recovered fabulously. We had some lows of an advanced age beloved Maltese/bichon mix that had kidney disease and Dr Blackwell personal care and education and commitment to our dogs health was incredible and I am forever grateful. We also experienced the joy and all the routine visits with a new puppy and another generation I trust with the loving care of Lori Blackwell and her staff. My grand pups also go here now and several friends dogs.”
“We have been going to Dr Max for years now. He and his office gals take great care of our cats. They are nice, easy to get a hold off and schedule an urgent visit. Dr Max is honest knowledgeable vet, gets straight to the business. Reading reviews on him overcharging patients is complete lie, he never pushed any unnecessary treatments and explained what is necessary and not necessary for our pets. Actually his providing, meds and vaccines are more than affordable, including self pay discount, who cat beat that. My cats have been treated with passion and respect, absolutely would recommend Dr Max to everybody.”
“This is the best vet office/hospital in the Chicagoland area. Private equity is not a thing here. Dr. Donna cares about her patients and will charge reasonable prices. We drive an hour to make sure our dog gets the care she deserves. For the people who are complaining about appointments etc, you don't know the cost of running a medical office. Yes I have to leave a voicemail message, but at least I can afford to take my pets here unlike everywhere else where they upcharge you on every little thing. Thank you Dr. Donna!”

“Banfield Hospital in Gurnee is by far my favorite one! The staff is always pleasant they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Last time I took my dog and the veterinary technician helped me take him to the doctor while I carried my son. This was just simply amazing as a new mom and a dog mom it can become a bit overwhelming. Today I just took my childhood dog and we have been going to banfield for more than 15 years, he never like to come to the vet it was always a battle, the technician was kind enough to take her time and make him feel comfortable. Thank you Banfield Gurnee once again for the phenomenal service.”

“We had to make the painful decision to euthanize our beloved cat Buddy, a part of our family for 16 years on 8/24/2024. The staff at McHenry Pet Hospital were all great! They made it as comfortable as possible for Buddy and our family. Explained how the process would work, assured us that Buddy would go peacefully and feel no pain. Reassured us that we were making the right decision. Told us to take as much time as we needed with Buddy to say our final goodbyes. That definitely helped, given the situation of having to let Buddy go.? Thank you to the staff that was there that day from the bottom of our ❤️. We recommend anyone who has to have any kind of care for their pet, to take them to McHenry Pet Hospital.”
“My senior gelding came in as an emergency on Friday night with colic. Dr. Moreauw cared for him all weekend and the staff were so kind and got him through it. She sent pictures to keep me updated and called at least twice a day to keep me posted on how he was doing. I could not have asked for more! Very grateful!”

“They take exotics! Major thank you to Dr Hamilton for taking in my sick parakeet Snow, and the technician that took care of him as well. After being rejected by 7 other clinics, I stumbled across this location as a last hope before having to go to Urgent Care or ER for something I knew didn’t need that. Thanks to their expertise, my little man is on antibiotics, and they’re offering antifungals if needed, and I couldn’t appreciate them any more. A pro as well is that they’re nearby! Thank you for taking the time to talk, and work with my mom to get my little man Snow taken care of ? prices are also extremely fair for exotics!”
