“My husband and I have been absolutely DELIGHTED with our experience with TOPS from the moment we walked in the door! TOPS was recommended to us by our vet, for therapy for our English Mastiff, Ivan, who has Osteoarthritis in areas of his spine, as well the joints of his legs. Ivan, at only 4 yrs old, was suffering from chronic swollen and painful limbs, and stiffness in his back, which caused him to limp and to walk only short distances with considerable discomfort. He was spending most of his day sleeping.The moment we walked into TOPS, we were very warmly greeted and ushered into a large exam and treatment room, with mats for the patient to lie on comfortably. After greeting Ivan, and ensuring he was comfortable with them (which is an aspect of care that many vets in our experience ignore or hasten through) , The Vet Tech and Vet, Dr. Christine, did an extremely thorough hands on evaluation of Ivan. Ivan's psychological and physical comfort were always considered. (Our Vet had provided radio-graphs, bone aspirations and blood-work prior to our visit.) From the totality of findings, a detailed treatment plan was devised; and Ivan was given a complementary laser therapy treatment. We have limited availability to bring Ivan for therapy during the week; but TOPS was able to find time slots to accommodate us; and they have remained in close contact with us!Since this initial treatment and some TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) herbs to add to his meals, Ivan has not been lame; has been far more active -- willing to go for walks -- trotting at times instead of hobbling along; and his psychological state has improved dramatically.Hence, we give TOPS our highest commendation!!!”

The staff were kind, professional and accommodating. The waiting room and examining rooms were clean, and their costs were appropriately reasonable. My 13-year old cat, Crosby, was scheduled with Dr Gretchen Hageman. I was impressed with her thorough examination of Crosby, but respected the time she took to explain Crosby’s treatment options. “I took my pups in for their first visit on the 14th of march. I have 2 pomeranians, female 10 months and male 8 months old. The reason for the visit, my 10 month old female has bilateral luxating patellas, grade 3. She was diagnosed by a different vet. The first suggested surgery in May when she is a year old and her growth plates closed. I went to the Shore for a second opinion. My second pup was along for the ride.I was so happy with the enthusiasm and care i recieved there. They loved my pups and the pups loved them. They were on board with my choice in holistic care for them and even helped me with recipes for homemade dog food.Outcome is no surgery at this time, and see how she progresses with exercise and mild manipulation. Essentially continue doing what I've been doing.The office is clean and does not smell like wet dog. They treat exotics as well as offering alternative therapy such as acupuncture and chiropractic care. All of this is the reason i will be transferring the care of my pups to them, even though it is not close to my home.”

“I want to express my mixed feelings about my recent experience at the animal hospital. Firstly, I must commend Dr. Kofoed for her exceptional professionalism and the lifesaving care she provided to our cat. Her expertise and kindness were truly remarkable.However, despite most of the staff being pleasant, my overall experience was soured by a significant lapse in communication and customer service. Four days after my cat's surgery, he developed diarrhea, prompting us to reach out to the hospital via email for guidance and to obtain our cat's records.Initially, we were met with a response from the front desk indicating they required authorization from the doctor to release the records, promising to relay our concerns to Dr. Kofoed. Unfortunately, despite repeated attempts to follow up, we received no further communication from the hospital.Days passed with no resolution, forcing us to leave messages before finally receiving a delayed response. Even then, the promised action to address our concerns never materialized. It was only after persistent efforts on our part that we were offered an appointment, which was accompanied by dismissive and unsympathetic behavior from the staff member we spoke with.Their lack of empathy and professionalism, particularly when we expressed our frustration and disappointment, was disheartening. To be blunt, the suggestion that we seek care elsewhere due to our dissatisfaction was not only unhelpful but also incredibly rude.As a loyal customer who has invested a considerable amount—over $7000—in the care of our pet, I find this level of service unacceptable. Regardless of the exceptional care provided by Dr. Kofoed, the overall experience has been marred by inadequate communication and poor customer service. I hope that this feedback will prompt improvements in the hospital's procedures to ensure a more positive experience for future clients.”
