GameStop is a home base for gamers, offering new and used video games, consoles, controllers, and accessories for all major systems including retro gaming. It also carries trading cards and a wide variety of gaming, anime, and pop culture merchandise like collectibles, apparel, and board games. Customers can sell or trade in old items for cash or store credit, as the store buys games and consoles at fair market prices, along with graded collectibles. The customer service is frequently described as very good, with employees noted as being chill, friendly, helpful, thorough, and genuinely happy to assist. They provide clear answers and are patient with customers. It is considered a nice place to bring kids due to its cool merchandise. However, some corporate policies, such as restrictions on buying certain items, can be a point of frustration. A minor complaint is that the store phone is sometimes not answered, requiring an in-person visit for service.
Last 3 photos I shot before I heard that this last location in Schaumburg is closing soon this month. After the Woodfield Mall location closed last year in 2025, and the Roselle Road location around 2016.

The guy working here was super friendly. Had a great conversation woru him about retro video games. While it's a small location, they still have a lot of modern games, accessories, and other fun knick knacks.

I will go to this one because I preordered a PLAYSTATION 5 game.
