Jewel-Osco is a grocery store in Sugar Grove with a good selection of food and other items like flowers, plants, and lawn chairs. The store features several departments including a bakery, deli, butcher block, and produce. The bakery is amazing, offering custom cakes with great service and reasonable prices. The deli provides party trays and an Order Ahead service. The butcher block has an assortment of meat, seafood, and sushi trays. Many employees are friendly, quick, and great, especially the checkout staff. However, some staff members can have a nasty energy and seem annoyed to help. Management is considered sub-par. A significant issue is expired food frequently found on the shelves, requiring customers to check dates. Prices tend to be higher than other stores, but there are great sales and coupons available through the app for good deals. The pharmacy offers immunizations and prescription refills. Grocery delivery and DriveUp & Go are available. While generally decent, the store can sometimes disappoint, such as with badly picked-over or dying flowers.
I visited lots of Jewels while in Illinois. They were are very clean, well organized and had great sales. The sake items were well stocked and the people were friendly. Wish I had one closer to home.
