“I absolutely love LFB. I don't even live in Lake Forest, but my sister does and LFB is her bank so I'm a devoted customer. The personal relationships that they form with their customers is such a refreshing way to do business. Shilpa and Tom are just fantastic - they seem to know everyone who walks in and they have the same professionalism and friendly demeanor with each and every customer, every time. Also, I've been to the drive thru at the other branches when I have my dog in the car with me and they always send a dog treat out for him with my deposit slip. Such a small gesture sets LFB from the other massive banks who have to seek out government assistance because their ridiculous fees aren't enough to keep them afloat. If you are tired of being just another number at your bank and not being able to talk to a human when you call, go see Shilpa or Tom!”
“Ive been banking here for many years. Their personal banking services, and their customer services are absolutely great. Their tellers are always friendly and their personal bankers (especially Catherine and Denise) are super helpful. Their online bill pay works well for both business and consumer banking and allows transfers, etc. They always have good coffee and snacks/treats for the kids and in general it is a pleasure to stop by the bank. I've never tried to borrow money from Wintrust.”
“When I lived in Mundelein this was my preferred bank. It was a bummer when I had to go to the bank on Maple, but it was only because this bank didn't have the printer to give me a new debit card. I assume because they're a smaller establishment? The employees were always very kind to me and my children (if they tagged along). Complementary coffee, water, and candy was sometimes available if there was a wait for a banker. If I ever did have an issue they were very apologetic and worked hard to resolve my problem. I know most are quick to leave negative reviews, but after moving away I miss this bank. I now frequent a Wintrust near my new residence and it can't hold a candle to this branch.”
“I have made this my favorite bank now. After being with Bank of America and being affected by the COVID Pandemic i no longer had direct deposit. Jose the teller at this bank went above and beyond my expectations when I was using their coin machine ( BTY no fees being a customer already) I accidentally dropped a sentimental medialian. Jose took the initiative to open it that same day and retreats it for me. Amazing customer service and they know my name every time I come in. I get greeted by my name by Marlene.”

“My wife and I had 6 financial advisors over 15 years, all of which offered only their company’s products for investment. In 2013, on a whim and with some skepticism, we attended a Steve Lewit dinner/seminar. Until that seminar, we had never heard the term “fiduciary”, much less know its meaning. Steve’s presentation sounded interesting and we decided to make an appointment with him to go over our finances. When Steve asked us our priority, we answered monthly income for retirement. Steve and his team then put together a plan that met our retirement income wishes, utilizing products of a few different companies. So we decided to again change advisors and move our assets into Steve’s recommended portfolio. Now, 9-years later, we are very happy to state that those expectations have been exceeded, as our monthly retirement income is more than was planned. A financial advisor that is a fiduciary (like SGL) made all the difference for us. We currently live in a Florida retirement community and recently discussed how lucky we are to have no money worries at this point in our lives. Had it not been for Steve and SGL, we wouldn’t be in this position.
