“After seeing some poor reviews on this site, just wondering if they are "fake" reviews. My experience with BG Bank & Trust (part of Wintrust) has been wonderful and I've banked with them for at least 5yrs. I shopped around for a bank that would offer me a small business account without having to deposit $5000 to keep on hold; they were the only one who had a minimum of $250. Any questions I've had have always been met with excellent customer service. There's a reason Wintrust must have been rated #1 in Illinois for customer service by J.D. Power.”

Gary created a plan for us to achieve our goals and we were very pleased with the results. Gary suggests and explains and the final decision is up to you. He doesn't TELL you what to do. Gary is there for you and to help you.A few weeks ago, I lost my husband. I called Gary and he had me come in. “I absolutely love LFB. I don't even live in Lake Forest, but my sister does and LFB is her bank so I'm a devoted customer. The personal relationships that they form with their customers is such a refreshing way to do business. Shilpa and Tom are just fantastic - they seem to know everyone who walks in and they have the same professionalism and friendly demeanor with each and every customer, every time. Also, I've been to the drive thru at the other branches when I have my dog in the car with me and they always send a dog treat out for him with my deposit slip. Such a small gesture sets LFB from the other massive banks who have to seek out government assistance because their ridiculous fees aren't enough to keep them afloat. If you are tired of being just another number at your bank and not being able to talk to a human when you call, go see Shilpa or Tom!”

“It is an “old school” bank, which is what I was looking for. They have decent savings account rates and they pay you back for any ATM fees. Customer service is good, rarely a line. I would recommend it.”

“My dad has a local account here and the tellers are very nice. I hate to say it, but I am very lazy and use the drive-thru window instead of walking into the bank. I especially like the holiday decorated deposit slips that they use...a little cheer for the sometimes drab winter weather. A word to the wise, don't even attempt to make a left turn headed westbound on Shermer or you're asking for an accident.”

“When I lived in Mundelein this was my preferred bank. It was a bummer when I had to go to the bank on Maple, but it was only because this bank didn't have the printer to give me a new debit card. I assume because they're a smaller establishment? The employees were always very kind to me and my children (if they tagged along). Complementary coffee, water, and candy was sometimes available if there was a wait for a banker. If I ever did have an issue they were very apologetic and worked hard to resolve my problem. I know most are quick to leave negative reviews, but after moving away I miss this bank. I now frequent a Wintrust near my new residence and it can't hold a candle to this branch.”

“Ive been banking here for many years. Their personal banking services, and their customer services are absolutely great. Their tellers are always friendly and their personal bankers (especially Catherine and Denise) are super helpful. Their online bill pay works well for both business and consumer banking and allows transfers, etc. They always have good coffee and snacks/treats for the kids and in general it is a pleasure to stop by the bank. I've never tried to borrow money from Wintrust.”

“I have worked with TD Ameritrade for a number of years and they've been wonderful in the majority of respects. They're not open on Saturdays but I can live with that. Anyway, I happen to use an Adviser on their platform, Creative Planning, that another reviewer had a negative experience with. I did not experience anything negative whatsoever (To the contrary). The Adviser was able to assist me with recognizing several important issues I was unaware of previously which was surely costing me money. I recommend TD Ameritrade and Creative Planning enthusiastically.”

In 2013, on a whim and with some skepticism, we attended a Steve Lewit dinner/seminar. Until that seminar, we had never heard the term “fiduciary”, much less know its meaning.
