The worst customer service experience ever, especially being a former employee of Thorntons. I visited this location 10/22/2025 at 10:45am and the cashier told me I couldn’t pay using two different cards. Whereas you can do two different pay methods. If I wanted to pay half in cash and the rest on a card you can do that in any gas station across America. So why can’t this location do transactions like this? Plus I been to other locations that allow this type of payment option. Please train your employees on providing excellent customer service. Thank you.

Stopped to use the washroom. I was properly greeted and given wonderful customer service. Definitely coming back. As a Rideshare driver, finding nice establishments is a huge win.

Went to the villa park location today around 10am. Wanted to grab gas and a snack. Seen the front area had some 2/$3 with cashews. I grabbed a pack, looked at the dietary information and decided it was a bit too much sodium and put it back. I stepped in line to get my gas and an older lady definitely in her 60’s (later found her name to be Nancy) called me to her register. I asked for the gas and told her the pump number. Nancy asked me if I was also going to pay for the stuff I grabbed. I was confused and asked what she was referring to, she said “ I seen you pick something up from the front area, are you going to pay for it” Now realizing she was talking about the cashews that I put back, I expressed that if she seen me pick them up, she should have seen me put them back. She refused to believe that I put them back and absolutely was convinced that I still had them. I told her to forget the gas got her name and walked out. How crazy embarrassing, I have NEVER been accused of stealing and to be questioned by an elderly gas station employee thinking she was Columbo is absolutely unthinkable. I’m a business owner and a active part of the community. To make matters worse I tried calling the customer service and it saves leave a email and hangs up on you. Absolutely disgusting customer service and even worse employees. I hope NO-ONE gets gas at this location, especially with people like Nancy working there.

On 9/24/23 at 9:20pm last night my boyfriend went inside the Thorntons location located 250 e Roosevelt rd. to purchase cigarettes for my mom and gas for the car he explained to the employee that he didn't have his physical Id on him, but he had a picture of it in his phone and that's he's over 21 the employee then started getting aggressive out of nowhere saying that he didn't care. So, my boyfriend asked if I can just come into the store to Purchase the man told him "No because she's going to be buying it for you" in reality it was really for my mom so when I got inside the gas station to try to purchase he continued to be rude I had my ID on me I'm 22 years old I didn't see the problem on why he was still refusing I also had my mom on the phone, so she was hearing everything the man was saying to us we didn't want to cause any problems so I just asked for a refund on my gas and we left because at that point I didn't want to spend my money with them just because how the man treated us me and my mom been going to gas station for over 7 years and this the first time we ever had any type of problems when coming to this gas station. I don't know the man's name, but I know exactly how he look so I will be reporting him to his manager as well.
