Carnitas Chepa & Groceries is known for having the best carnitas in the burbs, made the old fashioned way with a whole pig in a giant pot. It is a take-out only business where customers order carnitas by the pound, grabbing homemade salsa and tortillas to-go. The tacos are famously full of a delicious amount of meat. The menu also includes tortas and menudo on the weekends, along with delicious, fresh rice and beans. The owners are noted as being very nice, offering generous samples to new customers. There is often a line outside, but the authentic, amazing food is totally worth the wait, providing great value and a taste closest to the south side of Chicago.
