The man I spoke to while I was there nerded out with me over laserdiscs and that was the most fun I had in a while. The prices from what I bought were absolutely amazing. “I saw an ad on Facebook for an outdoor rug for $40 so I decided to go there to see them. This was my main reason for going. I walked in and thought, "Oh,no!" this isn't going to be good. The store has so many cute items at good prices. The employee, Mike, was wonderful. He gave me the best customer service I have had in a very long time. He helped me with the rug, he helped me find a purple colored umbrella that I just had to have for $14.99, I found a great smelling candle for $7.99 and a giant sun and moon metal art for my patio wall for $39.99. Mike was very helpful, friendly and even helped me carry the large rug to my van. I will return for sure! I'm so glad I went to the store to shop. A+ experience! Thanks Mike”

“We have been going to this store for many many many years...way way way before covid showed up on all of r doorsteps...
A great place..to first of all...sell any books that u either must...or want to...they will give u a fair price for what u bring in...and in the past I had also sold children's toys and games...and music items...if ur not sure if they will buy what u have...just give them a call...everyone who works there is quite competent and very nice and kind...etc...
In the old days before covid...they ysed to have free coffee...for there was so much wonderful stuff to check out...they new u would be there for quite awhile...
On my most recent visit I found a Blu-ray I had been looking for...there was pretty slim pickings in the items for kids...but that us why u want to frequent this place often...cause there us always stuff coming thru the doors..

“10/10 library lots of manga I get all my manga and books here and the workers are always nice to me and my sister when we go there, they also have a subscription which gives you discounts on books its really great ever since we found this store our library expanded tenfold!”

Along with the delicious sit down and relax area and even further in the back there is an area to read on beautiful leather sofas. Well done, and thoughtfully designed .”
“I stop at this store every few weeks to see what's new. The comic book section is small, but the pricing is reasonable for the most part with exception of the uncommon/special issues, which I've found to be higher than comic shops and eBay. The graphic novel section is full and diverse.
There is usually a good selection of board games at this store and reasonable pricing. Video games is lackluster but that's probably due to the Disc Replay in the same shopping center.
The book selection is good with a decent assortment in niche topics.
I often find some worthwhile items in clearance at this store.”

“Barbara's bookstore is a great place to grab a book or magazine or gift for someone while traveling traveling through Chicago's O'Hare airport. The staff at these bookstores are extremely helpful and knowledgeable in regards to All things relating to books! They have a computer system and can look all the books they have. I also appreciate they have helpful items for kids like drawing books, markers colored pencils. I had to stop here because I forgot my reading glasses and they had a wide selection to choose from.”

“I ordered 4 puzzles and the packaging was fantastic, even after the delivery driver tossed the box at least 20 feet to deliver it, we are one of his last stops on his route. The exterior box was dented, but the puzzle boxes were not. I will definitely order again from this company. Thank you.”
“I loved that it has that" old books" smell. For me personally, I love that. But here I feel it's not very overwhelming. You get a hint of it. To be honest, It didn't look like a typical second hand bookstore! The shelves are clean and neat and well ordered. It is very much organised and you can easily browse..there are also chairs to sit on. Will definitely be back! I got a surprise set of books that I found quite worth the price! There are also free books at the entrance on the left”

Extremely kind and friendly. I always make sure to visit in person when I’m in town and always find something for myself. I highly recommend it!”
