“I have used Elderwerks a couple times and both times they have been extremely helpful. The first time they helped me find the perfect place for my mom after Covid and she wanted more interaction with people. Then as my mom's needs changed suddenly, I reached out to Elderwerks again. I worked with Gail who was kind and patient while I explained the situtation. She responded to every email right away with referrals and information, ultimately helping me find the right place once again. When things are overwhelming and you don't know what to do for your aging parent, Elderwerks is a wonderful resource.”

Whether you're an established business or just starting out, I encourage you to join the GLMV Chamber.”

“REACH Rescue is honestly one of the best adoption centers we have ever experienced. They were so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and walked us through the entire process. Because most of the animals available are being fostered - they are socialized and so loving! You can tell all of the staff/volunteers lead with their hearts and take such good care of the animals. We happily adopted our first dog, Cedar, through them and will continue to support this amazing Rescue! ?”

“Linda and Admin Creative did a great job organizing our Taste of Evanston fundraising event - from securing new sponsors to improving our website, managing ticket sales, social media and a thousand logistical details to create the event itself. The committee and I were amazed at all the knowledge and resources she brought to the party. She improved our event 100% and we've hired her again to do this year's fundraiser.”

“The reputation of the Patty Turner Center as the liveliest gathering spot on the North Shore is well- known. People come from multiple suburbs to attend the well- planned, outstanding programs and special events as well as the classes offered there. If I were asked to design a perfect center for creating a warm community, the PTC would serve as my template. I highly recommend it.”

“This organization is a true blessing to so many people. From the LCC K9 Comfort Dogs to the Lutheran Emergency Response Teams, support for Veterans and first responders, and more! They do what they do with love and to be a light in the world even during the darkest and most challenging of times. I have volunteered at the center in Northbrook and for their annual Comfort Dog Conference. The staff, a small but mighty team, are caring and humble in their service to others. The comfort dog program is like no other, bringing these well-trained, well-behaved animals into situations where people need healing. I feel it's a very worthwhile organization to support with donations and to be involved with. Thank you all for the amazing work you are doing. The world needs more organizations like this.”

“Did you ever wonder what you can do to make a difference? I know I have. One of my passions since I was a child was Foster Care. I did a lot of research on that topic in college and wrote my undergraduate thesis on Foster Care. I always wanted to do something more... This year a wonderful movie came out, Instant Family. At the end of the movie, a link went up on the screen telling the audience that if they want to help a foster child to check out the link. That's how I found CASA and I am so lucky that I did. I remember walking into the building for the very first time for my interview with one of the trainers. I was nervous and excited, not knowing what to expect. On my drive back home, my friend called and asked me how the interview went. The first word that came into mind was inspiring. That's a strange word to describe an interview, but that was the one word that kept coming to mind every time I talked about it. We had 40 hours of intense training, split into twice a week sessions starting mid April. Living in Chicago, it was quite a long drive to get to Vernon Hills. However, after every session I felt blissfully happy and inspired. Mondays and Wednesday became my favorite days. The training sessions included videos, presentations, speakers and super interesting activities. We were put on an emotional rollercoaster and given tools to become the best advocates we could be. At the end of our 40 hour session, we were sworn in in-front of a judge and became official Court Appointed Special Advocates and assigned our first case. Thank you to the amazing staff at CASA Lake County who make a difference in people's lives. Thank you Debra for training me to become the best advocate I can be, Monica for becoming my advocate manager, Brendan for having me join Young Professionals Board; Margaret, Shannon, Elizabeth, Laura, Debby for being guest speakers and wonderful resources if we ever needed anything. Sherri for being so friendly when we went to visit court to observe. Of course, thank you Terri for managing this incredible organization for so many year. If you want to learn more about how you can help a child and have an unforgettable, one of a kind volunteer experience, you should check CASA Lake County out. I bet you won't be disappointed. :)”

“I wanted to start off this review by saying what The Spiritual Forum is, but where to start? What it is is limitless, really, with respect to the spiritual growth podcast listeners and in-person attendees can get from digging into it. Rev. Carol Saunders, a Unity Minister, started up and leads the weekly, Sunday morning forum. She takes a spiritual topic, puts framework and definition around it and then opens it up to discussion with those in attendance. I've always been used to Sunday church events where the minister presents a lesson at some length, so at first when listening to one of the Forum's podcasts, I felt I might be missing the lesson. But after listening to a few, things clicked, the lesson is there. In the topic presentation, in the perspective those attending bring to the discussion, in the self-inquiry Rev. Carol prompts by posing questions back in response and by the awareness that surfaces in me while openly listening to this all. The Spiritual Forum can be called an alternative to church, and that's not to say there isn't value in traditional Sunday Services. This is another platform and one that can reach a more vast audience. Some attendees have Unity backgrounds, others do not, it doesn't matter here, all are welcome. To an extent, spiritual development springboards from awakening, developing awareness and maintaining that awareness. The spiritual topics addressed in the forum are practical; they are ones that tie in with our daily lives. Forums like this are a rare find - I haven't come across anything similar to this yet. If you live in the area and can attend in person, check it out in person sometime - be a part of the positive energy there and take advantage of the opportunity to connect with others on the path.”
