Place is run down, Pritzker said they're going to fix it. But that's been 2 years ago

Nice view. Didn't have a reservation but found great spots available. Showers were a bit dated. Large campsites!

This campground is quite beautiful. The spots are large, and near water. The bathrooms are clean and stocked. Parking available, including handicapped parking. Dump spot and dumpsters are easy to locate and access. We recently came here for the trick-or-treating night. Oh my word it was fantastic!!! The majority of people take it seriously, the decorations is next level! There was a bouncy house, hot dogs and trick or treating all free! A food truck was available for purchase. Kids and people of all ages LOVE it!!!!! This is a yearly event you don't want to miss!

Beautiful area. Needs to be rehabbed as I feel it would bring a lot of tourist to the area if it is taken care of. Would love to visit again and be able to stay there

The boat ramp in the play area were open but the buildings were locked up there were no businesses out there at that time seems like a waste some brand new buildings

Very nice and quiet place. Make sure you fill up with water at the dump station. They do have water faucets but you will need a long hose as they are not near the road.

We have stayed here a couple of times and like the large well spaced sites. Some are on the water or have nice water views. It's a large park with scenic roads within the park. The big negative was the shower house and bathrooms. We were there early in the season and they were pretty old and not very clean. Next time in that area or traveling south we will stay across the road in the Corps of Engineers campgrounds, North Sandusky, South Sandusky, South Marcum and Gun Creek. There are miles of scenic roads in this parks and beautiful clean shower and bathroom buidings. The sites are large and well spaced. Unfortunately Illinois State Parks seem to put nice clean shower houses and bathrooms on the bottom of their list, some of the worst I have seen in the Country.

Great time fishing at Rend Lake Harbor Oaks with my granddaughter. 3 bluegill in 30 minutes.Picnic area: Covered pavilion great for picnics. Close to boat launch and docks. Located on the edge of the water. Parking lot has plenty of room for trailered boats or motorhomes. Two boat ramps and docks.

We had a great visit at Wayne Fitzgerald State Park. The campsites are huge compared to other campgrounds in the area. Our host was fantastic and resolved a problem where a new arrival stole our reserved campsite. We were camping with a motorhome and needed to go into town. The interlopers took our reservation form off the clip board and parked in our spot. They also ignored the fact that we left our camp chairs with bundles of firewood. The host checked his records and confirmed that we had paid for 10 days, then went down to talk to these people. The interlopers claimed that that it looked like our reservation expired and pulled the receipt from the post. The host knew this wasn’t true, because he regularly checks the posts everyday and takes down any expired receipts before new arrivals check in. The interlopers left without any fuss after talking to our host. Not all campgrounds are run this well. This is a beautiful natural area with lots of wild life.

Beautiful ?, we are right by the lake, hearing the lapping of the waves on the rocks below! Most beautiful place I can remember going camping! The breeze coming off the lake is awesome.

Resort area that is closed is an eye sore. The campground needs mowed about 60 to 75 percent of the time. Showers are normally in need of major attention. Thank goodness we have full bathroom in the camper

Just solo camped here in the Bay Loop while I was on a noodling trip on Rend Lake! Great campground. Ample toilets, showers and pit toilets. Lots of sites right on the lake. Some playgrounds and a bike/walking path. Each site has a picnic table and nice raised fire pit that has a grate. Very nice boat launch and docks. Was pretty quiet and peaceful when I went and camped. Will stay again.Cons: Does not sell firewood. Other local campgrounds do that you can go and purchase from.
