“Saw the IMAX 70mm showing of The Odyssey here and was kinda underwhelmed.
The theater wasn't bad, but the design with the doors out of the theater being pointed towards the center of the room as opposed to how most places do it with the doors sequestered to the back and then facing the screen made it so a distracting amount of light was coming into the theater the whole movie.
Couple that with a quite noticeable line running up the middle of the screen that you can see in another reviewers title card photo on their review, it was a bit disappointing as that was pretty distracting.
There's also a noticeable flickering during bright scenes with bright whites on the screen, which was something I did not notice on my IMAX with Laser showing I had seen prior, so might be either an issue with the format generally or the theater's projector itself. Made some of the outdoor scenes hard to watch.
Chairs are also small and the rows are indeed really tight, that I don't care too much about but if someone's going to get up during the movie it's going to be more of a distraction than if there was a few extra inches of space to squeeze through.
Cool that this theater exists, but there's definitely a few quality of life improvements I think could be made that would make it a five star experience. Because as it stands, I'd rather go see it on an IMAX with Laser screen.”

We learned the proper way to use power tools and applied our knowledge to create our own cedar planter that looks like a bench. Everyone's bench turned out beautifully - thanks to the help of our leaders Massiel and Aimee. Mine is now beautifying my front porch!

“Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge is a very nice place. The Harold Zook house and studio next to it have great architectural significance. You can't go in the house, but the outside is very impressive.”
“My family and I have been going to Wednesday night dinners for nearly 3 years now; my father is a Vietnam vet and also a member at Post 2164. They have dinner specials Tues thru Friday. Every food item I've tried has been excellent; cooked/made to order so it's always fresh. The atmosphere is personable, friendly, casual and fun. They have live acoustic musicians every Wednesday (not sure of other nights) who are phenomenal. The staff is all volunteer- so I always tip well because they're all great! It's a relaxed family atmosphere and facilities (bar, bar dining, video gaming, main hall, and washrooms) are always clean and comfortable. Even if you've never been, by the end of your visit I bet you'll have at least one or two new acquaintances who would inevitably you'd become friends with; staff and customers are so personable it's easy to strike up conversation. The main hall can also be rented out for parties/celebrations, etc. Wednesdays are also classic cars night where people can bring their vintage, classic, made from scratch, or hot rods to show. It's just a great place with excellent people and good food at reasonable prices and a fully stocked bar. If you've never been you should give it a try!!”
“I went there as a chaperone for my son's field trip. It was full of fun things to do and educatuonal stuff. The kids could learn about how people lived in 1980s, and what houses and schools looked like 200 years ago. The coolest thing was that we could see the process of horseshoe making. In the blacksmith shop, a lady showed us the whole process from iron melting to cooling it up. It's definitely worth visiting especially with young kids.”
“I've been a proud Member of NCC for 32+ years. Our golf course was renovated 2005-07 and is always in perfect playing condition. Our clubhouse and dining facilities were expanded and modernized in 2021 and our food and staff have never been better. Although we've had a waiting list for several years, NCC is the best value in the western suburbs and Member opportunities are available. “I attended a special event at the Mansion with Geoffrey Baer for WTTW. The place is very cool. Some of the rooms have been restored to their original furnishings and some are bare. The library, chapel, and hidden staircase are highlights of the mansion. The weather was not good for outdoor activities on the day of my visit, but the grounds are nice and would make a great place for a walk on a nice day.”

“We got married at the Bolingbrook Golf Club on 10/17/2025 and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Jill was absolutely one of the best people we could have hoped to work with—kind, patient, accommodating, and always helpful.
We chose the East Room rather than one of the larger ballrooms because we wanted a smaller, more intimate vibe, and it was perfect. Any issues that came up during the planning process were handled professionally, and Jill truly went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.
Our rehearsal dinner at the Eagle’s Nest restaurant was excellent, and the staff was fantastic. During the rehearsal, when we opened the box to assemble our arch, we discovered they had sent the wrong piece and we couldn't put it together. Jill immediately stepped in and offered the use of the club’s arch, saving the day. On our wedding day, everything went incredibly smoothly, thanks in no small part to Jill, who helped our planner and best man set up the ceremony space.
We visited about a dozen venues before choosing Bolingbrook Golf Club, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. It was the perfect place for our wedding, and we wouldn’t change a thing.”

“The wife and I stayed in the deluxe suite. Very spacious and clean. Separate living area and bedroom. I’ve been wanting to stay here for awhile and finally got the chance to do it. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. It was very quiet during our stay. A coffee shop next to the hotel that was only a 2 minute walk. You have to call if you want ice. No self service machine but that’s ok. The gentleman that brought the ice to our room was very nice. Our view was facing south of 59 and it was a very nice view. Overall, 5 out of 5 I would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it.”

“Trendy modern hotel with eclectic vibe. Rooms are simple and clean with a basic easy to maintain layout. Pet friendly which my family appreciates. Breakfast area is small offering limited selections but has vegan options. Their voucher system for getting Breakfast is a little confusing. You look at the menu in the nook, then walk back to the receptionist and place your order. At that time you need to order all your Breakfast choices to redeem your voucher. I can't go at 7am as I'm the early person and wait for others in my family at 815am. I either order for both my vouchers or wait til others in my group are ready. This is less preferable to other hotels which allow us all to eat when we want.”

When I asked if there was hot water nearby to make tea she explained there was tea and a microwave in the room but she would happily get some for me.
