Lived there for just over 4 years. The staff is incredibly incompetent and does not keep the property is good condition.

If you're thinking of living here, don't. Save yourself. Never live anywhere managed by this company or people. Front office is abysmal at handling any issues. No cleaning communal areas of apartment buildings during COVID, we had a tree fall on our roof that took over 6 months to remove with barely any compensation for them failing to uphold their end of the lease. We've had to put in work tickets for the same issues multiple times because maintenance is terrible too and takes over a month to get to anything. The company refuses to issue credits though, so you'll end up paying for amenities you can't actually use. Avoid this place at all costs. If you do end up living here, be prepared for them to barge into your home at least quarterly for "inspections by mgmt" for no reason other than looking to evict residents to jack up prices for new lease signers. No one loves violating lease terms and gaslighting residents like PVA does. If you do get a response from the front office about an issue somehow, it's likely just for them to tell you it's your own fault and they can't do anything (even if they clearly can)

I would give zero stars if able. At a minimum, all of the lights in the building's hallways are out, even considering disabled residents. This is going on 3 months. My dishwasher hasn't worked in a month either. Service tickets go unheard, calls are not returned, and now we are under new management with zero information on how to contact them for help or anything else! Needless to say my neighbors are dealing with black mold unaddressed and without working water for days after a pipe burst. Just terrible all around. I was told to go into the office and make a scene if I want anything done.

Carmen and everyone in office were AMAZING! I really appreciate Carmen giving me and my daughter an opportunity to live comfortably. Thank you Carmen!

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would . I lived here for 5 years before the new management company took over. Never once did I have an issue living here the first 4 years - hence why I stayed - was it perfect? No but it was fine. Once Carmen took over as the leasing manager the whole place went down hill and fast. The rotation of staff in the office was a clear sign she didn’t know what she was doing . If you need to get an answer about your lease - good luck - the staff doesn’t know anything , or they tell you only a manager is allowed to share that info - which would be fine if Carmen was ever in the building . Don’t bother leaving your number - she will never call you back , don’t bother about emailing either , it’s like she’s a ghost.I had a 800$ security deposit down . I did not see a dime of it when I left in Sept. I have an email from management stating I did not have to paint my walls or carpet clean due to being there so long - and that I would NOT get charged. They also stated if I paid for a professional cleaner they would waive the 150$ cleaning fee- just had to show receipt.I showed receipt in person- dropped my keys off in person and left my forwarding address for them . A few months go by- no security deposit check was sent to me and I get a collection notice in the mail - stating I owe prairie view 150$ for cleaning . Prairie view is stating I did not leave an address - and that I did not show receipt for cleaning . They charged me 150$ for cleaning , 500$ for carpet clean, and 300$ for painting . All which they stated in email I would not get fined for . It’s been now 5 months that I have been calling , and emailing Carmen to resolve the situation . Her office staff always says she’s not available - and that she will call me back . 5 months of radio silence from her. Hands down one of the worst managers I’ve ever dealt with . Even her office staff talks negatively about her .Please for your mental stability and your wallets sake - DO NOT A RENT HERE !!!!

The staffing is a joke and might as well not exist. Any problem I've come to them about is just answered with "sorry we can't do anything about that." When i first moved in "Dave" gave me all the wrong information on when rent was due and how much certain fees like internet and water cost. Also, when I moved in I had to put a $500 pet deposit down but for some reason I still have to pay an extra $35 dollars a mounth for pet rent.

So far not too good. We're moving in soon. We get an ok space for the price. Dealing with it for a year but wow is management interesting. Not answering their phone unless David is in the office. He is super helpful and friendly. Other management responds to emails not answering questions or concerns, using 3 word responses. Apartment was supposed to be cleaned, they said it was. It wasn't. Pool isn't functional. Hopefully everything gets better.

Horrible Managment, never returns calls. Had to get the city involved for them to "try" to look into the issues. Managment needs to change.

Nasty, low income do not waste your time looking at this place. It's a dump. I would give it a 0 if I could.my washing machine has been broken for 45 days and they keep telling me to walk my things to another building to wash my clothing when I pay more for the washer and the laundry rooms are filthy with mold and garbage every where with holes in the wall with plastic bags covering it.

Believe the reviews. I really wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt but I fooled myself. They were super nice and inviting in the beginning but once I paid $300 to secure my apartment, I could never get a call back or a straight answer to my questions. Quick background: I moved from FL to IL for a better job opportunity. I couldn’t physically fly or drive over to look at the apartment before I moved in. Prairie View didn’t have any pictures posted of the rooms but ‘David’, who works in the office, was super nice and sweet, I trusted the process and went along with the available choice rather then shop around or wait weeks for an apartment to open up elsewhere.Three days before I was due to move in I called the office to triple check that everything was in order. I was informed that the room I paid a deposit for would not be available for the day we previously agreed upon… No one called me to inform me of this! They claimed it was old management… I’ve seen multiple reviews with that excuse. Their reply was ‘Cant you just move in another day’! Completely insensitive to me pushing back my start date at my new job three weeks already because of the room availability. It gets better… To help me out, they found me a smaller sq ft room for ‘just’ $20 more. Coming from someone living pay check to pay check I asked if it was ‘just’ $20 more they could discount it since I place the $300 down for a specific room on a specific floor and since I couldn’t get my $300 back in time to deposit elsewhere that would be a compromise. The answer was NO… Keep in mind, I start work in three days and I have a full moving truck which I would have to return soon too. I looked around for other apartments and sadly couldn’t find anything close by ready to move in, in 24 hours. So I had to accept.I spend 20+ hours driving from FL to IL, only stop for gas and restroom breaks, only to show up to more heartache. The apartment was nothing I expected! Rent does NOT include water and trash!!! You pay for it as an reimbursement which is added to you’re rent!!! The laundry looks like it’s from an eighties movie. Basic appliances! Smelly hallways. I can hear my upstairs neighbors walking/running/playing around. The pools are not operational, it’s not because it’s winter either. The gym is a joke. There’s potholes everywhere. The bedrooms and living room do not have lights, so you will need lamps! The first floor patio isn’t really a patio, it’s not screened or private and anyone could just walk up to it. I brought patio furniture that I’m uncomfortable putting out. Anyone can walk up and take it. And to top it all off the manager is rude!I expressed my dislike to David and asked about a refund again. I was told it would take 30 days… If that.So I asked if there were other room available since the bathroom wasn’t what I expected, especially the shower. David called his manager and received a chewing out. I had to stop them and tell him that, yes, I would take the room! I didn’t want him belittle or talked down to. Carmen was rude and condescending. I was in shock that someone to speak to their employee like that for asking a question.I don’t know if I will change the rating of my review but for right now, day one, it’s been horrible and stressful. The only golden light has been Kathryn and David. I also don’t know if there will be some type of retaliation for this review but people should be warned.Overall the apartment is livable but isn’t worth the price. My one star rating is mostly for the events leading here and the way management has handled my concerns. Also, Check my views. I have never left a review like this but it’s ridiculous!

We have been residents of Prairie View apartments now for 5 years. We have not had any complaints. When we had a service issue, it was done very quickly. Phil in the office has been a lot of help to us and I thank him.

Alot of low income housing in this complex. Notorious for drug activity. Cops always somewhere in there. My friend's building in particular is clean and quiet. Park areas for kids, fitness center. TERRIBLE torn up parking lots across the whole board.
