“You don’t usually expect good customer service at a post office. But that is exactly what you get at this location. Strange to say I have a preferred post office, but I do now!”

“I owe this place a review. For years this little post office has quietly been part of our lives here in Roanoke. I’ve shipped online sales from here, asked questions when we first moved in, and over time it simply became one of those places you stop noticing because it’s always there doing its job well. And honestly… that’s probably the highest compliment you can give a small-town post office. I’ve rarely waited in line. If I ever did, it was usually because somebody was taking time to help a neighbor, and in a town like this that feels appropriate somehow. Years ago after moving here, we found ourselves trying to navigate some confusing address issues. It was one of those situations where you don’t fully understand the process, don’t know exactly who to call, and every answer seems to create two more questions. Through all of it, our local postmaster stood out. I never even met her in person. Most of our communication happened through email, but over time it became clear that she genuinely cared and was doing everything she could to help move things in the right direction. At the time, when you’re in the middle of a frustrating situation, it’s easy to only see the problem sitting in front of you. Looking back now, with years and perspective, I honestly think she was carrying far more of the load behind the scenes than we probably realized. People like that deserve to be recognized. Now we’re preparing for another move and just completed our change of address. It made me stop and realize how many small pieces of life quietly ran through this little building over the years. Packages. Questions. Mail. Life changes. The truth is, small towns are built on people who consistently show up and do their jobs well, often without much recognition. So from our family: thank you Roanoke Post Office. You mattered more than you probably realized.”

“So friendly and helpful! A package I sent from another state had not arrived, they called the next day to give an update. Once they located the package, they called again to make sure I was aware it was out for delivery. All during the holiday season and Covid. Amazing, thanks so much!”

“I've always had positive experiences using this location and I've used it well over 25 times. My only recommendation would be to make sure and check the business hours before driving there.”

“I need to acknowledge the young man working Saturday the 11th between 2:30 and 3. He was very friendly and professional to all the customers he encountered. I was frustrated with a package I received from a Poshmark seller and he went over all the options I had for returning the package. I felt bad and told him I wasn't frustrated at him, but with my situation. He was very understanding and very helpful. Thank you!”

“I only have one day off of work a week and that day is often full of appointments that are very stressful to me and put a lot of strain on my body. I drove all the way to this office and even though I arrived last minute trying to prevent a panic attack in the lobby, the staff was so gentle and helpful with me. Their kindness made my day, I wouldn't have been able to get the packages out in time for Christmas at all if they hadn't shown such generosity. 10/10 best staff ever, I don't know what I would've done if they hadn't helped me.”

“I was a little nervous coming here after reading some of the negative reviews. I even tried calling the day before and couldn’t get through, which is definitely something they could improve on. That said, my actual experience at this Post Office was excellent. I worked with Lisa at the counter, and she went above and beyond to help me with a delivery issue. The problem wasn’t even the Post Office’s fault, it had more to do with my new building not being set up for mail yet, but Lisa took the time to listen, was patient, kind, and even had a great sense of humor while working through it with me. I walked in expecting frustration and left feeling impressed with how friendly and helpful she was. I know people are usually more motivated to post reviews when they’ve had a bad experience, so I wanted to share the other side. My visit today was nothing but positive, and I really appreciated Lisa’s professionalism and empathy. Aside from the phone issue, my experience here was a pleasure. I'm giving it 5 stars despite the phone issue cause of how impressed I was with the customer service at this station.”
