I don't feel comfortable reading it fully off of one visit, but if I go back and continue to receive great service and experience, I will upgrade it to five stars.

Town & Country Veterinary Clinic
3140 N Smith Pike, BloomingtonWhat an incredible vet practice! I was visiting from out of state with a frail and premature newborn kitten who suddenly aspirated and was struggling to breathe. They fit her in and saw her 30 minutes prior to closing on a Friday evening, just before closing for a holiday weekend. Unfortunately she had to be humanely euthanized, but the office staff and vet couldn’t have been more compassionate & caring! To top it off, they didn’t even charge me for the euthanasia. If I lived locally I would definitely choose this vet practice!!!

I feel like I am always able to ask questions and ask about options of care for all of my pets . He has always been patient and very caring. He saw us through our 3 dachshunds and their aging process with CHF, enlarged heart, severe anemia and back issues. Much TLC when we had to say good bye to our last good boy Baron last April. Arlington Heights Veterinary Hospital - North
4515 W Arlington Rd, BloomingtonThis vet is incredible! From when I was first scheduling an appointment they went above and beyond, reaching out to another clinic to get my cat’s vaccine records because I couldn’t find where they sent them to me. Then once I was there they explained everything they would be doing with my sweet girl and had a breakdown of each expense and for the 200$+ expenses they said they would call before doing them. I got a call later in the day about how my sweet girl was doing and it was clear they had spent time with her (they said she was very sassy and vocal lol!) I could not be happier with my experience and I highly recommend this vet!!

The pups were treated by two amazing techs who informed us as to everything we needed to know about the pups conditions. The pups came from a not so good breeder..
We are looking forward to seeing this great family of veterinary care again

Two Sticks Bakery
415 S Washington St, BloomingtonTwo sticks is a very unique bakery here in town. They have baked goods you simply won't find elsewhere. Everything is made that day and once it is gone... it is gone. A personal favorite is the potato & spinach handpie and theor focaccia bread whatever its ingredients that day is alway solid.
Pretty much a take it and eat it else where in & out type of place. However the product is good, the staff is attentive, and the menu is unique. It stands out Vs the other bakery's in town based on its menu.

Butler Winery and Vineyards
6200 E Robinson Rd, BloomingtonI absolutely love this winery! The wine is outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and inviting—perfect for both casual visits and special occasions. Ive been coming here since early 2000’s as a kid, back in the days of eating pizza by the pond! Once I turned 21, it became my go-to winery — They even hosted my engagement party, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The staff was welcoming and attentive, and all of my friends and family had an amazing time.
They also host a multitude of events, such as the eclipse in 2024, where my family gathered to witness an amazing event. I’m so grateful for the memories we made here and will definitely keep coming back!

Hopscotch Coffee & Kitchen
235 W Dodds St #102, BloomingtonThey have a number of delicious vegan and vegan-capable brunches. I had the Hop Scramble (tofu and seitan sausage) with avocado and toast. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful! It would be a five star but, I think with HappyCow rules, non-vegan restaurants are limited to four—even though five is an option here. I tied to follow the rules ? Korea Restaurant
409 E 4th St, BloomingtonKorea Restaurant has a pretty predictable but large menu of gimbap, various soups, bulgogi, bibimbap, hotpot, KFC, teriyaki, and more, with some Japanese-style dishes in addition to the Korean. This restaurant, like the others on this street, is in a converted house, and the environment is comfortable and unpretentious. They had K-pop music videos playing on a TV in the dining room. There was an older man and a woman serving together; the woman was very sweet, the man came off as quite serious.
I ordered the tofu hot stone bibimbap which also came with an assortment of banchan. None of the food really stood out to me but it was all pretty good. I definitely would've liked more tofu in the bibimbap, but I did appreciate that it seemed to be lightly pan-fried rather than deep-fried. With hot sauce added, the bowl was very flavourful but not too salty. The vegetables were all cooked well and the fried egg also had nice crispy edges. The portion was filling, especially with the banchan. The bibimbap came out literally seconds after the banchan, so I was a little worried it would get cold before I had the chance to eat the banchan, but the stone bowl kept it nice and hot until the last bite.
I would say this is an okay place for vegetarians/vegans since they do have a number of entrees that I believe should be vegetarian or vegan (more if you remove the egg), but they don't label which dishes are vegetarian, so you might have to ask questions about hidden meat/seafood ingredients if you're not familiar with Korean food. If you are vegetarian, let them know when you order, because even though the bibimbap I ordered was vegetarian, some of the banchan (fishcakes and likely the kimchi) contained seafood.
The overall experience was positive but not outstanding in terms of the food or atmosphere, so while I might return if I'm craving Korean, I want to try other Korean places in the neighbourhood first to see what else is out there.
