Our dog can be skittish with humans but she considers the staff there part of her family and that brings us and so much peace when we leave her! We book her here when we travel and feel like she is getting a vacation too. Every time we take our dog, we love this place even more! To The Dog House staff - thank you (all of you) for the magic you create there for our beloved dog! You are truly the best!!!!!

Then I got the FidoRido. I really like that it uses the Seat Belt to attach to the car. Best feature: there are restraints on both sides to keep him in the middle of the booster. Works great. Looks great. Easy to install and take out.

The groom took about 4 hours which told me they took great care of him and took their time making sure he was comfortable. I didn't know my boy could get any cuter but Camryn made it happen. 3828 W 3rd St, BloomingtonMiss Myla (Husky) has been going to The Bone Yard since it opened. I rescued her from the animal shelter. She absolutely loves the staff in the groom shop and daycare. She can be a difficult groom at times (typical husky) but the staff always does
a great job. Myla loves seeing all her doggy friends in daycare and especially loves the birthday parties!! Both the groom shop and daycare are always clean - daily cleaning at the end of the day to keep all the doggies healthy. Watching the staff interact with the dogs and their owners- you can tell they truly care about their wellbeing. I wouldn’t think of taking Myla anywhere else. She loves the staff.

She is, without a doubt, the best veterinarian my cat Benjamin (Benji) and I have ever met. When Benjamin was struggling with a severe illness, persistent skin lesions, and ongoing allergies, we were terrified and desperate for answers. Then I met Dr. James, truly a magician in the world of veterinary care.
From the very first visit, Dr. James showed a level of patience, kindness, and compassion that is rare to find. She took the time to understand Benjamin’s symptoms, listen to all of my concerns, and explain a thoughtful treatment plan in a way that made me feel informed and reassured. It wasn’t just medical care; it was genuine empathy.
Benjamin’s skin infection lasted for over two months, which was incredibly stressful, but Dr. James supported me and Benji through every step of this long healing journey. Not once did she rush us, dismiss concerns, or make me feel like just another appointment on her schedule. She treated Benjamin as if he were her own cat, with so much love and gentleness that I was often genuinely moved.
What truly amazed me was how Benjamin responded to her. My cat is usually cautious around strangers, but he became so attached to Dr. James that he actually recognized her during visits and would immediately perk up and show happiness the moment she walked into the room. Seeing your pet trust someone that deeply is the greatest reassurance any pet parent can receive.
Thanks to Dr. James’s expertise, dedication, and warm-hearted nature, Benjamin finally recovered, and our visits turned from stressful necessities into comforting check-ins with someone we genuinely trust.
Dr. Rachel James is the sweetest, kindest, and most understanding vet I have ever interacted with. She listens, she cares, and she truly goes above and beyond for both pets and their people.
If you are looking for a veterinarian who treats your pet like family, who brings both skill and heart to her work, and who makes even the toughest moments easier, you will not find anyone better than Dr. Rachel James.

I feel like I am always able to ask questions and ask about options of care for all of my pets . He has always been patient and very caring. He saw us through our 3 dachshunds and their aging process with CHF, enlarged heart, severe anemia and back issues. Much TLC when we had to say good bye to our last good boy Baron last April. We will continue to see this practice with any new oets as well.

Everyone I encountered at the office was very friendly and knowledgeable. They even worked with me on ways to bring the price of his surgery down a bit since he’s such a big guy, which I really appreciated! I would definitely recommend bringing your pets to their clinic!

The owners daughter-in-law took time out of her busy schedule to come out and visit with us. She also filled us in on some upcoming wines available in the fall. Bruster's Real Ice Cream
4531 E 3rd St, BloomingtonI'm gonna be honest: I like Brusters. I am not from this country, but Brusters sure makes me feel like I'm back home at an ice-cream parlour. I've made many visits here when I'm happy or sad, and I have to say I've never been disappointed. But this particular visit stuck out to me, and so here I am.
Brusters has a large ensemble of flavours in their menu, and mandates multiple visits to get a complete experience, barring which, you're left with flavour FOMO. I have never been a proponent of too much cream in anything, but you have to try Bruster's whipped cream. I think it is locally sourced/made by them, because it's really fresh and delicious to taste. An ice cream order without whipped cream here in incomplete.
It was a hot summer afternoon, and I was done with a multitude of chores I had envisioned for my day, and I decided a visit to Bruster's was warranted. I got to the counter and explained to the server about the phenomenal chocolate-fudgy-cakey goodness I had ordered the last time I was there, and fallen in love with, but couldn't locate the equivalent on their menu. She explained to me that it was last months flavour of the month and it was on random rotation, which got me really sad. But she offered to help recreate it with a flavour recommendation, and also threw in some hot fudge and brownies for free, so I could have a similar experience. I'm eternally grateful to her, because this was my last week in the States, and probably the last time I would be having Bruster's for the foreseeable future.
The attached picture contains my order of the absolute chocolate decadence she whipped up for me(which I absolutely indulged in before remembering to take a photo), alongside an Oreo cheesecake with whipped cream and a cherry (a little melted because I took some time to take a picture)
If you're considering Bruster's for the distance/other options, definitely give it a try. It's worth it, I promise. ;)
