When these people say it's literally the worst location.. they are not lying. I haven't been here in about 7 years because I got sick of the employees getting an attitude with me and treating everyone differently when they walk in these doors. I came back today instead of donating stuff because I am desperate for the money, and my kids need to eat, and the moment I walked in.. you noticed the hostile environment. I told the lady I had 2 more bags to grab and she explained they don't take bags and they have to be baskets. Ok, but the lady in front of me had bags and you let her move them into y'alls basket. And, are you gonna pay for me to buy a laundry basket? Because I don't even own laundry baskets. So you're telling me I can't tell my clothes here because I don't own a basket? And honestly, I couldn't even carry a basket even if I had one due to my disability. Finally she let me use theirs.. then she took my diapers boxes of stuff and didn't let me put it in the laundry basket but she literally just told me everything had to be in a basket. Then, she told me shoes and just items are unlimited but clothes were 2 baskets. So she starts putting all the toys and shoes into the laundry basket that's supposed to be for clothes only since that's what I had a limit on. So I asked her why she was doing that, trying to understand why she was wasting my space. She got an attitude with me, tried to snap at me and explain something that didn't make sense like she was making it up as she went, I asked her again why she did that and she rolled her eyes, got up and walked away. Started whispering to the coworker about me and saying they're going to refuse bags period from now on. Uh lady, you can't do that. If you have baskets available for us to put stuff in.. then you can't deny that. And you can't penalize someone for not even owning a laundry basket or even being able to carry a damn laundry basket even if they had one. I will NEVER return to this place because it will clearly never change, and I will drive further to use one that actually has GOOD customer service. Stay far, far away from this place.

was told you have to WAIT IN THE STORE while they pick and choose which items they can collect… you cannot leave the store and drop your stuff off…. never heard of this policy.

This was the most most cramped confusing once upon a child I've ever been to. The layout makes absolutely no sense at all.All the clothing sizes were mixed together and you could hardly walk through any of the isle's also the racks were so high you couldn't reach anything on the top rack.Staff was nice though.

This is literally the worst Once upon a Child there is. The absolute worst, and I love going to other locations. It’s such a shame because this is the closest one to my house. After having several bad experiences here I decided to give it one more try to see if they could give me a good experience. They had the door wide open at 9:45, I came up to the door thinking they were open, the lady told me they were open at 10, she was just setting up. Sure fine, i understand that completely. But she was giving me dirty looks the whole time and smirked at me every time she got a chance. MEANWHILE the lady setting up the cash boxes with the front door wide open! She was pulling out deposit bags and everything with the door open! Not that it would bother me as a customer I thought it was absolutely putting everyone there at risk. Anyone could have walked by and there was money out with the door unlocked and open. Finally the thing that put me over the edge and I will never come back….. once 10 o’clock came she came and peeked her head out the door and said she won’t take my buy because her computer won’t let her and try coming back in an hour. After she just let me stand out in the cold for 15 mins and I had already talked to her about them being closed. She told me it wasn’t working when she came in this morning. So instead of mentioning it to me she left me standing out in the cold to wait until 10 to tell me. This location is HORRIBLE and they are so unprofessional.

I would give this particular Once Upon 0 stars if allowed, because there is nothing redeemable about this location.I have given this location what feels like chance after chance. Every time I try again, my experience is worse than the time before. To begin, the staff are incredibly dismissive and rude. It is almost if they rather have no business at all than deal with customers. Second, I have tried to sell here in multiple occasions, and before I could even complete the process, they turned me away. I do not have these issues at other locations, sad because this one is closer to me.Lastly, the prices at this store seem ridiculously higher than the other locations I shop at. I know that OUAC use a computer to determine pricing. However, after working at and managing their sister stores in the past, I know that the pricing can be adjusted by the business.I wouldn’t waste your time at this location. Instead, try 96th street! The staff are awesome. I buy and sell their regularly, and have never hated a price or sale!

Pro tip: go to a different OUAC location. This franchise isn’t worth the trip, unless you want to pay $$$ for worn out clothes. Target during a sale is also a better option.Pro (unfortunately there’s just one)Affordable used kids clothes and toys that are all in one place (no dealing with fb marketplace, Poshmark, etc).ConsThe store and items are dirty. The store itself is overstocked and cluttered. Good luck digging! The clothes are either significantly worn with holes and wash wear or very overpriced.I purchased a few toddler shirts here after digging through the immense store without looking too closely at them before leaving. Unfortunately every item I bought has at least one hole from the hang tag they use and many of the items have additional holes from simply being old and worn.

All the staff must not have kids of their own with m the policies they have here. No public restroom? Changing table? Carts that fit children? How are parents supposed to shop if you don’t cater to them as customers?. Poor customer service. I will never be back.

I have noticed the following issues with this store: unfriendly service, refuses to let you leave the store while you wait no matter how long it takes, barely ever takes any items and extremely picky on what they will buy. I have brought in barely used, in season items sometimes with tags still on them and still no buy. Items that would clearly sell in their store. I end up having to drive far away to another location or just give the items to goodwill. Ridiculous.

On two separate occasions, the staff has been very rude to me, and I will not be taking my business here anymore. You are expected to stay on the premises while they go through your items (if selling). I was scolded for my toddler bumping into a display (you know, being a toddler), while we were waiting 90 minutes for our bin to be finished. They offer only 30% (a generous estimate) of what they will sell items for, which doesn’t feel worth it to haul items there.

I live in Plainfield and I drive all the way to this OUAC because I love the clothes selection. The clothes look like they came straight out of the department store. You pay a little more but I think it’s worth it considering the clothes are in really good condition AND you would pay way more at other places. I’ve never had bad customer service. I don’t sell clothes here though just buy.

I shop and sold at this location for last 2 years and never had a problem. Ladies who work there always helpful and friendly. I only wish they will let customers leave the store and come back when the buy is ready.

Unfortunately, not a good experience here. The workers here have always been nice for the most part, however, the inconvenience of selling here is why I’m rating 1 star. For my first time selling, I took in 2 TINY bins and 1 small to medium size bin and was told they could only take 2 bins at a time. So essentially if I would have combined the 2 tiny bins into 1, they could have taken all of it. I waited about 45 minutes for them to go through them and was told I couldn’t leave the store. I pushed my baby around in circles through the aisles that his stroller barely fit constantly getting in everyone’s way. I’m not sure why it’s necessary to take down a phone number along with all of my information if I am unable to leave the store, even if it’s just to go kill time next store at Carters. The store is crammed and overwhelming. I’m not sure the selling process at other locations, but would rather drive an extra 20 minutes for an easier, less stressful experience.

Not a fan of this location. Very inconvenient to have to stay in store for buys. Never even heard of that. There was only one buy in front of me, and it took OVER AN HOUR and a half. Employees took an LONG time to complete my buy and were very slow and distracted by other things/very chit-chatty with each other. Other locations allow you to leave and come back later. Also, not very friendly to my teens who were just looking through toys patiently waiting. I wouldn’t recommend this location but maybe another one with different operating rules.

While there is a lot to buy from (why I gave 2 stars) and it wasn’t dirty the prices are CRAZY for a used clothing store! Pajamas were $6.50-$7.50 when you can buy them brand new from Walmart for under $5 or from Carters for $8. I found one fleece outwear romper for $18! I’ve bought some from Ross for $12 and it was an adidas brand. I love the OUAC in Fort Wayne and Lafayette because we could get the same items for $1-$3. Will drive there next time. Also we passed multiple staff and not one said anything to us including hello or goodbye. Just kept gossiping with each other.
