“I went to Menards to get plywood. Asked if I could get it cut down and was told yes. Tried finding it but couldn’t. Asked again and they said they couldn’t. Decided I’d keep looking. Found someone else and they said maybe but actually knew where. Directed me to a saw that couldn’t cut it. Called Lowes and was listening to a pre recorded message for 5 minutes…. Called Bender Lumber and the phone rang for maybe 5 seconds where all my questions were answered. Showed up and Kyle asked me what I needed the materials for. He helped me buy the most economical product and cut it all down to fit in my car. Friendly conversations with friendly people. First time there and I’ll be back.”

“I was there for over an hour today getting spray paint, and several other items to mount a 40.5 inch long by 12 inch deep shelf I found at Goodwill. I will be putting it above two wide utility closet doors that I do not have access to. They are very large doors that take up the longest wall in my kitchen. So, to make use of this dead space I'm putting this shelf there and will be attaching the rod to hang curtains from it as well. This will disguise the tall rolling shelving units that I use for pots and pans, small appliances, and other overflow items.
While I was there 4 people greated me and offered to help. At the time I did not need help from 3 of them. However, one older man in particular (I wish I got his name) was very friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond his required duties, checking inventory for items I needed, directing me to the correct bay in that aisle, and even came back to check on me later.
