“The reviews on this page are more of a reflection of USPS as a whole, however the lowell branch is extremely friendly and fast. They do have high prices but that is expected shipping with a premier service. I would stay away from buying any packaging or labels here due to cost. However, the staff is always friendly and knowledgable.”

“I want to give a Huge thank you to Jason for going out of his way to find my Dad’s lost card. So appreciated!!! Also thank you to the person that delivered it.?”
“I have been going here for 16 years and never had any issues at all.Sometimes when customers cant get their way they do become angry and leave bad comments.I know because I worked for a different Post Office for 38 years so I know how customers can be.keep up the good work HIGHLAND POST OFFICE!!!”
“they do the best they can. i used to work in the post office in Germany in the Army. and unless youve ever had that job you couldnt know how hard it gets. when you have people who expect you to mail things with the wrong info, etc, and then get mad if something theyre expecting in the mail gets delivered later than they think. it all takes TIME PATIENCE AND ACCURACY in order for a item to be mailed to someone, if this country would realize that ,mayb there would be less anger and more understanding.,”
“The ladies at the front desk are always so friendly and they always have what I need to ship items. This is by far one of the best post offices I've been to.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my recent experience and overall observations regarding the Merrillville Post Office. I’ve been receiving mail from this location for many years, and as an adult with my own address, I’ve had numerous opportunities to witness how this post office operates.
Let me begin by highlighting my most recent visit, which was exceptional. I was assisted by Mr. Marciano, who is frequently present at the front desk. In fact, he’s there so often and carries himself so professionally that I initially assumed he was a manager. Mr. Marciano is consistently knowledgeable, patient, courteous, and highly professional. His assertiveness and ability to remain positive even during times of high customer volume, are truly commendable. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about delivering excellent service.
Another outstanding team member I want to recognize is Mrs./Ms. Kay. She has also assisted me on many occasions, and every time she does so with a peaceful, helpful demeanor and a positive attitude that stands out. Her professionalism and leadership shine through, even when the workload is heavy. I’ve noticed her impact on other customers as well; her approach leaves a lasting impression and uplifts the environment for everyone.
Lastly, I’d like to commend Mrs./Ms. Ashley. Although she may be newer to the service desk compared to the others, her kindness, positivity, and professionalism are already apparent. She appears well-trained and brings natural warmth to her interactions with customers. These traits are especially valuable in a role like this.
As a retired U.S. military veteran and former employee of the Gary, IN Post Office, I deeply appreciate the importance of reliable, respectful service and I recognize excellence when I see it. These three individuals, Mr. Marciano, Mrs./Ms. Kay, and Mrs./Ms. Ashley, embody the values of the United States Postal Service. They not only show up day in and day out, but they also truly care about the community they serve.
While I’ve noticed areas where the USPS has improved over the past 10-15 years, I am sincerely thankful to have the Merrillville Post Office as my local branch. It continues to be a place I can count on for excellent service.
Thank you again to Mr. Marciano, Mrs./Ms. Kay, and Mrs./Ms. Ashley for your dedication and hard work. You are seen, appreciated, and make a real difference. God bless you all!”
“I have only been here one time. My visit was simply to purchase stamps. The lady behind the counter could not have been nicer. I really like how the building looks too. The outside is quasi-futuristic and is an architectural wonder to me.”
“Anyone complaining about prices here should probably take their complaints elsewhere. As in, look into who is running the United States Postal Service and direct your ire there (and perhaps vote with that in mind in the future). The staff in Crown Point doesn't control the prices, can't do anything about them, and surely don't like it anymore than we do.
And anyone complaining about the staff is just plain wrong. If you had a frustrating experience, maybe look within before you start lashing out at people doing their jobs within the guidelines they have to follow. I've been to every Post Office in The Region, that this is without a doubt the best. They're incredibly efficient and always kind. They don't treat you like a burden. I want to shout out Robin because she's just the best. I'm always glad when she's the one helping me out. She knows her stuff.”
