“I have been going to the Bargain Shoppe for many years. I am never disappointed, the staff is helpful & friendly, prices are fair, I always leave with at least 1 item that I was searching for, sometimes I leave with things I didn’t even know I needed!
The Bargain Shoppe is a place of happy memories, if you mention ‘Grandma Gertie’ you get a long list of people who remember her, knew her, will share stories about her, and loved her as much as I do.
It is worth a trip to Kendallville, IN, to spend some time looking for that special treasure. I found it again today. ??? and Grandma was there in my heart, too.”
“I have been to many thrift stores and this is the first time I actually found A LOT of clothing that I really liked. They had a great selection! I’ve also found some cute decor, toys and books. Staff is always nice and friendly.”
“One of the best ran Salvation Armies in Indiana. The Manager Matt is awesome and excellent customer service. Other Salvation Armies should run their store like this one. Prices are fair and excellent customer service that's why I shop there.”
“I LOVE THIS SHOP! Everyone who works here and all the customers are so kind and respectful. My daughters and I go every few months and it’s always like having a little social reunion. Yes, the staff can be firm at times but they are loyal to their cause and are vigilant to protect the gifts that others have so selflessly gave.
The store has super cute, reasonably priced clothing, (at about 50% of the larger thrift store prices) and is loaded with beautiful preloved dishes, crystal, vases and glassware, that often looks like new!
It is unfortunate that accidents happen but trying to prevent them is beneficial to everyone, especially a child who could easily be injured by unintentional breakage.
I also have young children and understand the struggles, I just try to remind myself that if a guest was in my home and I felt my property was at risk I would express my concern to them and hope they honor my rules. If they chose not to, I would ask them to leave.
This store has a similar situation The volunteers who staff this store have clearly put their whole hearts into building and maintaining this charitable venture. It’s just like a home to them and they can’t be faulted for doing their best to protect it. Everyone is human, we get frustrated, make mistakes, but also have the ability to forgive.
The charity these volunteers support helps to provide medical care for those who don’t have, or cannot get, health insurance. Every item, every sale, every dollar, literally helps save lives.
These lovely people ask and get nothing in return for their services, except the knowledge that what they do matters. It’s so wonderful to support their cause just by shopping! These volunteers have my upmost love and respect. This store is a treasure.”
