About The American Legion National Headquarters
The American Legion National Headquarters is a historic building owned by the Indiana government that offers a rich display of American Legion history through its museum and archives. Visitors can enjoy a helpful tour, learn about filing injury claims, and explore patriotic resources. The facility is in need of updates, including improved artwork preservation, modern lighting, upgraded elevators, and better office spaces. There are concerns about panhandlers nearby, and suggestions for better parking for first-time visitors and additional amenities like a USO canteen. The headquarters actively welcomes local, state, and federal veteran agencies, officials, and visitors interested in veterans’ affairs. Overall, it is a building dedicated to serving members and honoring veterans, with opportunities for community engagement.

Great tour of the museum and archives. Very helpful with question concerning how to file claims for injuries received while serving in the Army.
