About Eiteljorg Museum

The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is a unique art museum located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the only museum of its kind in the Midwest and one of only two east of the Mississippi that explores both Native American and Western art and culture. The museum features a diverse collection of artwork that depicts Native Americans, Western scenes, and multicultural influences, including segments on the lives of immigrants from Asia and other regions. Visitors can learn about US history, the lives of original inhabitants and settlers, and see contemporary Native American art exhibitions. The museum hosts various events, such as the annual Indian Market and Festival, which showcase outstanding art, jewelry, clothing, storytelling, and delicious food. The galleries are extensive, with both upstairs and downstairs sections that offer plenty to see and experience. The building is elegant, and the grounds add to the overall appeal. Parking is convenient, especially with validated parking in the underground garage, making visits more affordable. Ticket prices are reasonable, and the museum provides a pleasant and educational experience for several hours. Visitors often appreciate the well-organized tickets and event reminders, along with the opportunity to enjoy a good meal at the on-site café. Overall, the Eiteljorg Museum is highly recommended for its rich collections, engaging exhibitions, and cultural insights.
