About FIDO
FIDO (Friends of Indianapolis Dogs Outside) is a non-profit dog welfare organization focused on improving the quality of life for dogs, offering help to income-qualified pet owners in Marion County. The organization provides low-cost or free resources, including a pet food pantry with dog and cat food, secure fenced enclosures, dog houses, crates, and other basic supplies. They also offer vital services like shot clinics, microchips, and required spay/neuter procedures at affordable prices or for free. Reviews consistently describe FIDO as a wonderful, incredible, and great organization with a caring, helpful, kind, and passionate staff. Customers report amazing and lovely experiences, noting the staff is efficient, open to help, and wants to assist people as long as resources are available. The dog food pantry is highlighted as a crucial support for those on a tight budget or having a bad month, helping them keep their pets. Many express deep appreciation, stating FIDO saves them and they can rely on the program for food, flea medicine, treats, beds, and collars. While there may be a wait and no bathroom on site, the service is praised, including help with carrying supplies. The organization is widely recommended to pet owners struggling to provide for their animals.
