I used to clean at this place. The manager is prejudice and one of the employees passively accused me of stealing her mug or cup that costed over $50. Just because I'm black working at a cleaning job for minimum wage doesn't mean I want to steal your stupid overpriced mug. On top of that she was biracial which confused the hell out of me. Left a real bad taste in my mouth. Treat people with respect and stop with all the weird classist behavior. You never know where people will be in life and if you will ever cross them again in a time of need.

Watched a manager tell a nice couple they couldn't have their dog in the building, apparently only service animals allowed. Small, leashed, well behaved dog. I've seen REI's across the country allow dogs, personally it was a deal breaker for me and I'll never shop REI again. Plenty of other sporting goods options.

I love your products but when I spend $400 on clothing items, I expect my items to be folded and bagged, not wadded up and handed back to me. I appreciate your “green” philosophy, however, you can use recycled bags and still be green.. You are an upscale retailer, not Costco. Please behave accordingly.

This store is the closest location to me of high end outdoor gear I have found. I checked online to make sure they would have what I needed before making the trip from the Meridian and 91st street area where I was attending a doctor's office for the day and had a chance to shop while on my lunch break. I was looking for Merrell hiking shoes to replace the Vasque shoes I have been wearing for the last ten years. I have been wearing high end hiking shoes as everyday footwear since I discovered mountain trail hiking in Tucson back in 2002.Their online web site said they had a pair normally retailing for $120 on sale for $80 but it must have been online only since I could not find it in the store. This store did not carry Vasque but I had previously owned a pair of Merrell shoes and knew they were good quality and would last a long time. They offered two choices which were waterproof and not waterproof. I chose the waterproof although I liked the color of the non-waterproof better. The pair I chose were basically brown and I was hoping to get a different color since I had been wearing brown for so long. They offered two other colors, an olive green and a lighter color online but they did not appeal to me. I was hoping for a dark gray or something to match black and jeans better.Service was only so-so. Another customer and I waited in the shoe department for someone to wait on us while other employees looked at us but didn't assist us. It's not like we can help ourselves. Someone has to go in the back and grab a box and bring it out for us to try on. Eventually someone came to help me but the other customer gave up and left. Checking out was equally frustrating. Two cashiers both stuck with customers for a long time, one bickering over a return and not getting a full credit. This is where other stores have a separate counter for these issues so customers who want to simply pay and go can do so without a long wait and no one getting checked out. Standing in line or waiting to be helped while multiple other employees seem to be available to help is frustrating.

It wasn't a positive first visit to the store. Several employees welcomed us to the store at various points while we looked around. I told one of them why I was there and he indicated if I had any questions to let him know. When I went to find him though no one could be found. Another customer asked me if someone was helping us because he was waiting too. After several minutes, I decided to leave and made my purchase at a nearby competitor.

Amazing customer service over the phone! Spoke with 3 different employees while trying to track down a lost package (Which they swiftly ended up replacing, free of charge) and they were all extremely helpful!

Great store. Very helpful employees who were very knowledgeable in the gear. What was better was they had personal experience so they helped me with deciding what would be more helpful for my upcoming trip.

One of my favorite stores. Best selection of outdoor brands around. Amazing return policy. Knowledgeable staff.

This review is in regards to the bike shop:I bought a brand new bike online for my daughter and had REI assembly it for around $150. Got the bike once it was assembled and the first day of my daughter riding the hadle bars fell off while riding...Don't waste your money using the bike repair shop. It felt like taking a car to a shady mechanic shop. Overpriced and left with more problems then when it came in.

They do have some high-quality items that you can find nowhere else local. Annoyed at the constant self-promotion of their membership. I nicely say I am not interested in it and blah blah lifetime, blah blah discount on full price items. Was assaulted by their team members 4 times on my last visit about the wonders of the membership whiel browsing. Then I go to check out and "Are you a member?" No, I already heard about it and am not interested. "Do you know that the memership gives you longer time to return...". Enough!

Very bad experience when ordering a kayak online today. This morning I ordered and paid for a Pungo 120 at 9:30 a.m. that clearly stated was available at the Caselton location and could be picked up around 2:00p.m. At noon, I received another email that said the order had been cancelled due to no inventory. When I called the store I was given a very vague response as he was shocked because he knew they had this boat in stock. When he returned to the phone he told me another customer had purchased this same kayak in the store today. When I asked what the policy on selling inventory that had already been purchased online was he could not provide me with a policy. I guess if you go to the store you can purchase anything that has already been purchased by someone else online. This is a bad way of doing business and will lead to some very unhappy customers. If your online inventory system is not accurate and lets customers buy things that are not actually available in store you need to eliminate all online ordering. I will not be purchasing anything from REI.

Always love the service at REI. Especially appreciate that they have wide shoe options (at least for men, didn't check for women) and offer Big & Tall/plus size clothing options in store. So nice to be able to go shopping and try things on in extended sizes instead of having to order online and hope for the best. I appreciate their efforts to make the great outdoors accessible for all. Now if only the great outdoors didn't seem to be so expensive...but that seems to be consistent across outdoor stores and not just REI. Their membership program is cool. Store is clean and inviting. I go out of my way to come to REI compared to other outdoors stores.
