White River Gardens opened in 1999 as part of the Indianapolis Zoo. This beautiful, 3-acre botanic garden provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn elements of landscape design that they can apply in their own yards. Included with Zoo admission, the Gardens include: a glass-enclosed conservatory; 25 individually designed outdoor garden areas, including a wedding garden for ceremonies and receptions; numerous artistic fountains and sculptures; 1.5 miles of winding paths and walkways; and dramatic views of the riverfront and city skyline.
I always love the zoo. Always have a good time when we go.

December 2025
It's like an oasis in an urban jungle. Beautifully laid out garden with the Indianapolis skyline as a backdrop. I enjoyed the fall displays and plan to return for Christmas.
