“Recently had some fraud activity on online banking. Immediately came to the New Castle branch of First Merchants and began working with Customer Relationship Representative, Hailey Moore, who was outstanding! She was attentive and listened to the issues and began immediately working to find a solution. She explained everything in great detail and was very thorough and fast in trying to rectify the situation. I can not thank her enough for her help. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with any banking needs.”
“Edit: I changed my rating but I am going to leave the review for now as I’m actually shocked something like that happened at all. I’m not sure how a major bank has their servers go down without having a backup server. If they did have a backup server and it didn’t work either… someone needs fired. They should have an IT person that regularly checks everything, like the servers. But they did fix everything quickly. Just sucked not to be able to access our own money.
I will change my review back to 5 stars depending on what happens today, but if this ever happens again we will find somewhere else to bank. The fact that my husbands paycheck, it seems along with half the town, did not receive his paycheck today. Not because of his company, but because of OUR BANK?! Really? We have car and house insurance coming out tonight and an auto loan coming out of the other account tonight. I’m assuming that they are going to cover any and all fees associated with overdrafts and cover any fees from our insurance company when the payment doesn’t go through. This is ridiculous though, and I’m not sure what the problem is but they better fix it… Fast. This is completely unacceptable.
We had to refinance an auto loan and even though we didn’t have an account there they were super helpful and friendly. We got our loan at a great new rate with no hassles!”

“Great hours, decent customer service, nice features to keep you informed about your balance. I’ve NEVER had an overdraft with them in over a decade. Deposits and expenses go through the same day almost invariably. Other prominent banks around town seemed to intentionally hold items until putting them through when it would create an overdraft. Only complaint I have is I wish they had a few ATMs around.”
