Been a customer here for years and I'm about to stop. Brought in clothes..decided to look around while waiting and found a few things to try on and couldn't get anyone's attention to get a fitting room so I left until my quote was done. After receiving the text that it was ready..I came in and stood at the counter for almost 10 minutes with at least 5 people working and nobody even looked up to help me. This is unexceptable behavior in a retail establishment and says alot about the young people these days. We wonder why alot of businesses are not making it and this is where it starts.

Rudest people ever when trying to sell. They talk 💩 about people and their clothes. Just teenage bullies. They don't take their job seriously. They think it's high school. Also they want to make fun of everyone's clothes, but there is literally a lot of ripped and out of style clothes there. Prices keep raising too. The prices for used leggings is ridiculous. Same with some of the pants too. I do want to say there is one guy that works there, I think he is the manager and he is the only kind person there. I am always happy when he would check me out, but I am disgusted how these teenagers act. I come here to restock my closet, but the rudeness makes me not even want to go. I do find a lot of cute stuff here sometimes, but it's just not worth it to be treated like trash. I would never recommend selling here ever.

I will never bring in clothes again to waste my time at this store. Yes I’m a bigger lady and wear relaxing cloths but that shouldn’t matter!! I took in some plus sizes today and some large to X-Large in clothes. They were all name brand. Chico to old navy to torrid even lulu roe leggings. Every last piece was deny and was told it was too old or they couldn’t see the tags. No they weren’t. I only wear my dress up clothes once or twice but I’m mainly in T-shirts. This place is a joke. I also took a look around the store and this place was selling Nike shoes for 90. Really come on this is a second hand store.

I went in with 2 expensive altar’d state dresses and expected them to sell. They only took a pair of jeans and I got less than four dollars for them. I went through the bag because i’m taking the rest to goodwill besides the two dresses. I wanted to sell them because they’ve never been worn and still have the tag. One of the dresses was missing from my bag and I wasn’t given money for it. I’m very upset with how unorganized this exchange was.

Terrible experience selling here! The staff is so unbelievably rude. Nowhere on the website does it say you cannot bring in clothes to sell in a trash bag. The girl at the counter acted as if I was the dumbest person on earth when I walked in with a bag full of clothes. Safe to say you lost my buisness! If you hate your job, go find one you like instead of taking it out on customers.

The staff is very unfriendly. They do not welcome people in at all, don’t acknowledge you when you go to the counter, and talk amongst themselves instead of helping you. I had never sold clothes before, and they were very rude about helping me. There was one guy who was helpful but the girls were very rude and made me feel unwelcome. They definitely don’t pay high for items, but I don’t mind that part as much as the staff. I would not recommend this place, and I hope they fire some of their employees and try to focus on training more.

The employees are definitely making this store not worth it! I brought in a bag of heels(I called a head and made sure they would take them with the time of season) and a bag of clothes. I sat and waiting for help listening to one girl get confrontational with 3 other employees because they were speaking Spanish and she couldn’t understand so she felt as if they were talking about her. Less than 20 later the things in my bag were as I had them making it seem as if they didn’t even bother looking. Half of them aren’t worn in anyway straight out of the box and not cheep heels! They took the top sweater and a T-shirt and gave me $5. The people aren’t worth the decent sales they have nor do they make it worth it to try and sell clothes there. If you walk in be ready for dirty looks and employees bickering freely.

I've been trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt for awhile as sometimes I can find cute stuff there but lately I think the customer service there as drastically dropped. I brought in a bunch of clothes and they gave me $30 for like five things. And then I recently brought in two bags of shoes, all of which were really nice and hadn't been worn much. Converse, Adidas, vans, guess, etc. I don't cheap out when it comes to shoes and I had really only worn them a few times at most. The wait time told me an hour when I checked in, but within 15 minutes they said they were done. The girl that said she checked my shoes was extremely rude and had a really bad attitude. She said that my shoes were in terrible condition and they were not in season so they didn't want any of them. I didn't realize that converse and vans went out of season? And I know for a fact they barely went through the bags since most of them were the exact same way I had put them in the bag to begin with. She also wouldn't even look at me when she talked about my items. She talked to another one of her coworkers to explain that they weren't going to take anything. I don't know if she was having a bad day and didn't want to have to go through the bags but I personally don't think that's any way to treat your customers. I normally don't leave reviews, and I try to be as patient with people as possible since I work in customer service too and everyone has bad days, but I genuinely felt extremely disrespected by her and the rest of the staff. The store also had little to no inventory, so I'm not sure if they had just gone through a clear out or something, but for them to tell me that nothing I had was in season when they already didn't have a lot to pick from felt very odd to me. The clothes they did have were mostly shein and Walmart brands, and they were priced nearly the same if not more than what you could pay for them brand new. Overall I don't feel like I'm going to be going back anytime soon, I felt extremely disrespected by the staff and it was just a poor experience overall. I feel like if you're going to set such high expectations for what you buy, your inventory should mirror that, and not have shein and Walmart items be priced at what they are brand new.

I find it interesting when you pick your clothes back up they are just tossed in the basket, but yet they wouldn't sort through them if I brought them in like this. Be more respectful! The store also seems over crowded with inventory.

Overall, ok experience. I brought in 2 boxes of clothes and got an offer of $39 for 11 items. 4 of them are like new alo and lululemon worth around $200. So, yes they don't offer very good price on those. I didn't care as it's supporting local business anyway, but if you care maybe try recycle programs from the brand( lululemon like new etc.). Just for your reference, they picked mostly gym clothings, casual stuff. My nice clothes( silk dresses, designer corsets, floral dresses) from Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, European brands were not selected. Idk it's because of the style or maybe it's just those brands are not well-known locally.

brought in a box of clothes, all good brands, including some brand new lululemon leggings worth over $100. When I arrived to pick up my clothes they offered me $29 for 7 items. including the leggings which were hidden at the bottom of my box. They had a name on them, and were claimed by a worker, and weren’t going to be put on the floor. I was offered $11 dollars for brand new leggings.

7/26/2024:
I took 2 boxes of clothing to Lafayette Indiana's Platos Closet. I signed in and chose 2 boxes and had to leave and come back. I had my 13yo daughter and boyfriend with me and. My daughter found a few things so we had to check out. I went to the register and one girl pushed ONE box to the open area and seemed like they really wanted us to get it right that second(im sure to distract us from the fact they only gave us one of our boxes but we had not seen what they wanted to give for my items yet so I didnt think much of it at the time). My bf picked up the box. The girl at the cash register offered me $38 for 4 pairs of jeans. One had a $99 tag on them and the others had be only worn once or twice. Anyway I told her no I didn't want that I wanted my things back and she more or less asked if I wanted ALL of my things back (I cant remember exactly how she worded it). This struck me as odd because I didn't know people were just DONATING their things to Platos? Anyway. So, we pay and we go to the car. I get in and start thinking and so did my bf about the fact that when those boxes were filled it HAD to be 2 boxes. They simply wouldnt fit into one box. I get out and go to my hatch and start rummaging through the box and realize my Hollister shorts, skirts and many other items were not there. My boyfriend and I(they can see us coming through the window) head back to the store and I can see one girl grab my other box and slide it toward the open part of the desk. I walk in. Nobody says a word and I pick up my box and I made it VERY clear that I KNEW they were trying to steal from me. It was more of a snatching of the box if you will. Why wouldn't they say "oh sorry here is your other box" or something like that? They said absolutely NOT ONE WORD. It was weird, sketchy and highly unprofessional. I spent all week deciding if it was worth saying anything or not. They way this plan was set into motion and the cameras are abundant so this made me feel like maybe the owner is aware of what's going on here. With condescending responses like "We are sorry you didn't get your 5 star experience" I'd venture to guess they DO know what is going on here. It was CLEARLY not their 1st time doing this. I just wanted eveyone to watch out and know that these people may try to take your things so if you still want to go there I'd make sure you know exactly what you have. They should not ask "boxes" they should ask how many pieces and count them out. Unfortunately I had not. I do know that I had at minimum 13 pairs of shorts. All gently used. 8 were Hollister, 1 wild fable, 1 doll house, 1Ana, 1 aeropostale, 1 almost famous. The jeans they wanted to buy from me for $38 : 1 Miss Me with tag for $99.50, 1 Rock revival (worn maybe once) and 2BKE. The box that was slid to me had all the shorts/skirts in it I listed and more. I would post a picture if I could. The long and short of it is. I worked VERY hard for my things and I know others do as well. Can you even go into a business anymore and know that they wont try to steal from you? Apprently not ?. It's a sad reality. People need to be aware. Don't waste your time with your sorrys. This is inexcusable and it's not OK.
