Motel 6 Merrillville is considered a fine place for a quick layover, though it can get noisy due to its location. The staff has been described as helpful, wonderful, and amazing. Some rooms have been updated with nice flooring instead of carpet and feature firm spring mattresses, though pillows are very small. Issues noted include rooms sometimes having a bad smell or an odor of old smoke, and a rare sighting of a roach. A complaint was made about a cleaning person taking a guest's personal items. The inability to open windows on some floors was also mentioned. Despite some problems, many guests would stay here again and find it highly recommended.
Water pressure was terrible in our room. The hall way to the room smelled musty. The door to come in and out of the building was broken. You didn't have to use your key. Best part of the room was they had air-conditioning when we didn't and the bed was comfortable

Room stunk like mildew , mattresses are thin and hard , small pillows. The door to the room nearly shut. The bathroom door did not close at all .

The stay was Good. Rooms was Clean, TV actually Works Unlike Other Hotels near By. Definitely Recommend Staying here.
