“Went to Von Tobel in Michigan City regarding a storm door because I was getting some water backup off the deck through the kitchen. I figured adding a storm door would stop the water from splashing from the roof to the door. I talked to Peter. He looked at the photo. He really looked at the door and studied the deck. He noticed that the space between the first 2 boards by the door didn't have space to let the water go down. He suggested that I really look at the boards and underneath the door before I invest in the storm door because he wasn't sure the storm door would solve the problem. I went home and realized that dirt coming off the roof had closed the space between the 2 boards. I scraped it all out and see another possible issue to fix before I test whether those 2 things fix the problem. I am impressed with their honesty and help. He could have just sold the door. “I was at this Lowe’s on 8/13/26 to hopefully get a generator after the nasty storm that came through. Asked about generators and was told they have a truck coming in with 60 and to get in line. Ended up being a 4 hour wait. The people working that day were just the best ever! They handed out cold water bottles, candy, even went out to buy hot dogs and buns to grill up for us (and themselves - totally deserved!). To the folks working that day: you guys absolutely rocked it! I know you were feeling stressed and the people in line were feeling stressed but somehow you all were able to keep the mood calm. Thank you so much! There’s nowhere else I’d like to wait for four hours to buy a product I haven’t seen or researched.”
