The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum offers a charming and enjoyable train experience, especially during holiday seasons. Visitors highly recommend the Santa Train for families, noting that it provides a fun, warm, and comfortable ride lasting about an hour. The trains are well-decorated and clean, creating a festive atmosphere that delights children and adults alike. Santa is described as friendly and attentive, taking time to visit with each child, including those who are a bit scared, and handing out little gifts and goodie bags. The staff is friendly and helpful, sharing information about the train and ensuring a smooth ride. For families with young children, the museum offers the private first class car, which provides extra space and a more relaxed experience. Complimentary treats such as cookies and hot cocoa add to the festive spirit. Although the ride is somewhat short and slow, visitors find the experience worth the value, especially with the added benefit of a historic station and nearby attractions like Baileys Outlet. Overall, the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum provides a memorable outing for families, with friendly staff, festive decorations, and special excursions that leave guests eager to return.
Bought First Class Tickets. $11 more than Coach. Had a Air Conditioned seat in a Business Class Car. There was a volunteer that gave us the oral history of Winamac's train history, as well the line we were on. Very nice. A must do is you love old trains.

5 Star. It's changed in the last 2or3 years but my kid still loves it. They don't have the tiny trains the kids can ride around a small track any longer. They do have a new super nice car. Unfortunately the steam engine was down for maintenance. Still we got quality treatment.
