Hampton Inn Portage offers a generally comfortable and clean stay for guests. Many reviews highlight the hotel's quiet atmosphere and good breakfast options, including sausage, scrambled eggs, and waffles. Guests appreciate the convenient location, with easy access to the highway and nearby attractions like Southlake Mall and Bass Pro Shop. However, some visitors note that the hotel is not the newest and could benefit from a facelift and upgrades, as some rooms showed signs of wear and cleanliness issues, including mold in bathrooms. Service experiences vary, with a standout employee often mentioned for her exceptional assistance and friendly demeanor, helping guests with room changes and recommendations. While some guests experienced hiccups, like pool or air conditioning issues, the staff's positive attitude made a difference. Overall, while Hampton Inn Portage has strengths in its breakfast and service, improvements in room condition and consistency in employee attitudes would enhance the guest experience.
Really good night on 4.23. On 4.24, had to check in for the second night. Worked with dean. Super nice, professional, and engaging. Got me set up, made keys for the mrs. And asked me about my work and experience. Great guy.

Hotel does not look that old. Rooms are comfortable, with a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The shampoo/conditioner/body wash was empty in the room, so had to go to front desk to get some. It is an older hotel and a bit dated. The bed was comfortable. There is no toilet paper holder, just a slide out drawer that has several rolls in it. The heater/air and mini refrigerator are on the louder side.
