“We have excellent Pastor’s who unashamedly preach God’s word. We have wonderful men, men who above reproach as our Elder Board, who have done a amazing job during some tough times. We have ministries for all ages. We have Women in the Word Community Bible Study that actually study the Bible! Our faith is built on the truth of God’s Word. We at Liberty Bible Church do our best to handle it accurately. Praise the Lord for LBC!”
“We visited one day, and loved the atmosphere, so we went back 3 times over the next few days. Staff is very helpful when trying to find books not readily apparent in their collections.”
“Officially my favorite book/antique store of all time--and I am to bookstores what corporate middle managers are to golf. Bad for the budget but great for the shelves! It's now my habit to stop here whenever I travel to Chicago along 30, and I've yet to escape without buying something, either a hard-to-find book I've been hunting for years or a new gem.
The owner is personable and encyclopedic in her knowledge (I was delighted to find that she shares my love of Edward Gorey). The resident rare books specialist, Thomas J. Joyce, is passionate and expert at tracking down that elusive piece that you've been missing from your collection (he got me a rare 1948 editiom of T.S Eliot's Four Quartets).
The wares are also well priced, each with its own provenance, its own story, whether you're looking for something special or just want a fun paperback. To say nothing of the artwork and antiques!
All in all, The Bookworm feels like the perfect anecdote to the shiny, soulless, forgettable dust jackets that fill the shelves of big chain bookstores. Attached are pictures of a few of my finds there.”
