“This is the best HFH store ever. It is just packed with stuff. It's like every old-school hardware store I've ever been in smashed together to create this place. The guys on staff were a hoot to talk to. Check it out before you head to the box store.SK”
“Our niece and her new husband had their wedding reception here. The manager was very helpful and we had all day Friday to decorate. You can have food catered in from where ever you choose. The kitchen is decent. All wood floor so there is plenty of room to dance. They have lots of tables and chairs. They have a place for kids to play. They will provide the table linens and have a dumpster for garbage and a lot of parking. Our son and daughter-in-law also had their reception there a couple of years ago and we had the same great experience. You do need a membership or a member to sponsor your party.”
“Quintessential place for families and everyone is law looking for support in many shapes and forms. People working there put always others first notwithstanding all the troubles they endure. Highly underrated and under appreciated. Keep up the great work.”
“If you need furniture, tools, or supplies for home maintenance or remodeling, do yourself a favor and go to the Habitat Store FIRST. They may just have what you need, for a huge savings, and the profits go to a very worthy cause. The store in Ames is in a good location right off of north Grand Avenue. Parking is more than adequate. The entrance is odd though - don't use the front door. Go around to the south side of the building and enter there. They're not open every weekday either, and this can be very inconvenient, BUT it's completely staffed by volunteers, so I give them a pass on that issue.”
