I will absolutely be returning to shop as well as when I clean out my closets, that's where I will take my things..Oh one more thing, the less fortunate gets to shop here and gets free shoes that I know of for sure. I saw with my own eyes!!”

“I thrift for a living. My eBay store sells hundreds of items delivered all over the globe every month. I know thrift stores. And, this particular chain of Salvation Army Family Stores (Greater Des Moines, Ames, etc.) is, hands-down, the best in the entire industry. The stores are always clean and well-organized. The selection NEVER fails to impress and the staff is friendly and helpful. To that point, in my last trip we had a special request that required assistance from the district manager. Jenny worked with the store manager and in minutes, everything was in order and I walked away so very happy!! I mean, where else in the world can you find that level of service? Nowhere. The answer is, "nowhere."”

“There are two Overflow locations in Ames. The one on Duff is mostly clothes and toys. This one is more household hard goods, some art, knick knacks, and furniture. This is not my gf's favorite store, but I don't mind it. Prepare for some dust and to have to dig a little. One of my favorite areas in this location is the cable bins. I've been able to grab many charging cables and AV cables (including hdmi) for 50 cents each. Sure can't beat that price!”
