Until recently my experience with Western Iowa had been great.
Now we cannot connect at times within 10 feet of the router.
I used to tell people to call them for service but not after this recent experience.
The wifi service has been slow. We called & over the phone they had my husband set up another wifi labeled 2.4.
This didn't help & causes the router to check 2 different ones now.
So, I called. A tech came out. Checked our router which, had missed 2 updates.
He installed the updates & said if we had more problems it could be replaced.
Our speed again was bad within 2 days.
I called again on Monday 7-7-25.
The person I spoke with logged into the router to check, saying the speed was excellent. I could download things etc...When I tried to tell her it did matter what she was showing now, she became rude. Did not want to hear that at all.
Telling me to quit talking so she could finish saying how great the connection was.
The photo shows how bad the internet speed gets. This was 10 feet from the router.
When she finally looked at the last ticket/call. She agreed to have a tech call to set up another appointment.
She could not say how long it would be before they'd call.
I'd think there would be a policy on how long customers are expected to wait for a call. But she just kept saying she didn't have access to their schedule.
She'd been on speaker phone & my husband rolled his eyes when I hung up at how rude she was. I voiced my uncensored thoughts.
Within minutes my router shut down.
She'd still been logged into it.
It's now Wednesday & no call to set up an appointment.
After this and reading some of the reviews;
It looks like some Western Iowa Network employees don't understand customer service. It would seem they'll also retaliate when we get angry & frustrated with that.
*Today 7-10-25 a tech came out to replace our router. I'll update this 1 star review to a 4 as he was nice. He checked at the worst places in the house for connectivity. He could see the problems and replaced out router.
I'm only sorry I forgot to get his name.
