Great venue for our daughter’s wedding!

My daughter's wedding was held at the HARMAC last night. Wedding on the roof top and the reception on the second floor. Unique events (same owner as HARMAC) decorated the event. 90% of the evening was great! But it's the small thing that can take a 5 star experience to a 4 or lower.
The event was over at 11:30pm, still had quite a few guests on the dance floor at 11:00pm, Staff started to break down the tables and chairs around 11:00, which was fine with me, we only had about 6-7 table being used by guests near the dance floor. My issue was when the staff started to remove drinks, chairs, and linens from the tables that were being used. We paid $7000.00 to have the venue until 11:30, another $8500.00 to have unique events set up, decorate, and tear down. $5700.00 for our guest to drink beer, wine, and seltzers on us.
Allowing us to enjoy our family and friends for the time agreed to in the contact would have been nice, rather than having to asked staff not to take drinks away and break down occupied tables 30 minutes prior to the events conclusion.

If you are going for simple yet elegant, this venue is perfect! The HarMac is great with communicating and organizing everything you need for your event. The bar onsite is a huge perk, parking onsite as well for large parties. Couldn't have asked for a better venue to work with or location to have for our wedding!

An industrial warehouse that has been converted into an event location. Attended a wedding here. A front room area where the ceremony was held over looks to the cedar rapids public library. After the ceremony we went to the opposite side for the reception. A large space that can accommodate at least 300 people. A well stocked bar and place for catering to setup. Plenty of parking available on the premises for free.

Plus:The rooftop is nice.Minuses:Poor acoustics making conversion difficult to impossible.Very limited parking.Also:It's just an old warehouse, nothing architecturally special.

My wife and I were married at The Harmac. It was a perfect day! The venue shined and the service was impeccable. We were fortunate to return recently for a charity event and it was incredible to see the space transform. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love the Harmac! The industrial aesthetic is perfect for the couple that wants the feel of a modern chic venue. Feels like you are downtown Chicago which we love that it is different. We are so excited to have our daughter’s wedding there in just a few months. They have been amazing to work with and the space is so unique I can’t wait to hear all of the guests reactions to its beauty!!

I’m a hairstylist and it’s one of my favorite venues to come to do wedding hair! You can really tell there was a lot of thought going into the bridal and groom suites!I’ve also attended multiple weddings here and the bar has so many nice cocktail options

I’ve attended a few events at the Harmac since it opened and all of the events have been spectacular. The open concept, industrial feel made the overall experience that much better! Also, the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable with offering high quality options. They even had a good selection of mocktails. This space is exactly when the city of Cedar Rapids needed, especially downtown!

I am a wedding photographer and had the pleasure of shooting at The Harmac for a wedding a couple of years ago. The space, staff, and amenities are perfect for an industrial look. I was so excited to work in the space and can't wait to shoot there again!

Came here for a bestie's wedding a while back. I get it is going for an industrial look but it just looks ugly, almost like an old ripped up football locker room. Bestie said it seemed like a good deal at first but became harder to work with the venue as the planning process went on. Her wedding was beautiful, just would've been better elsewhere. Also not much parking.

Amazing staff that truly care. I would recommend this venue 200 times over. If you’re in the fence, do it. You won’t regret.
