Since COVID, I hadn't been to Stuff Etc like I was in the good ole days so today was my first in a long while. The store had a lot to look at but it was displayed tastefully, not feeling chaotic and cluttered at all. Jewelry, clothes, hardware, bike rack, curtain rods, bedding were just some of the great finds. As if the great finds weren't enough, the staff went over the top. What was evident was that these people are happy with their jobs. They were all in great moods and went above and beyond to help.

Stuff Etc is a pretty big thrift store, probably the biggest I've been in that I recall. I was very attracted to the pictures and was so excited to want to go here that I suspended my time at a restaurant to come check it out.I get there and it was, eh, underwhelming. The reason why it was underwhelming was because, while some claim it's a thrift store. All I got from the feel is that it is a Goodwill-style kind of a thrift store, which is just a discount department store at best from what they get donated.Individually priced DVDs, electronics are all locked behind glass and priced as you'd expect. The furniture is INSANELY priced and I mean that not in a good way. I didn't really take my time in this store as I felt I should have, because I couldn't shake the vibe that it was all Goodwill/Ross/Salvation Army levels of pricing.May have a lot of variety and some things could be fair in price but I don't ever dare classify Stuff Etc as thrifting.

This place has gotten kind of stuffy. Seems that for a consignment store (higher prices than normal 2nd hand stores) that it would be more organized but seems that they have given up on their organizational skills. I'm giving it a 5 star because the person who helped me at the front was so nice.

I recently decided to sell some things at Stuff but have been quite disappointed with the process. I've attempted half a dozen times to bring in my things to sell but, due to the agonizingly slow line, had to leave to return to work. The line simply does not move. Last time I waited for half an hour and never moved forward. Why would I want to stand in line over an hour just to make $20 off some clothes. The emplyees are either incredily slow or they are understaffed. Either way, I'll just donate small clothes and sell my other things on places like Craigslist. Get it together Stuff - you're losing business.

Update: can you please address the issue of stealing from consigners and profiting off of claims that you are donating items vs selling by the pound on items you do not technically own!Do not consign here! They are thieves! They say they donate any items they deem unworthy to sell on the floor or items that don’t sell in the allotted timeframe and state this in their consigner contract. This is an outright lie! They sell it by the pound to DAV. Not only do you not have a choice to get your unwanted items back, but they actually profit off of them and you have no say in this! It isn’t only unethical, but it is illegal as you lead your consigners to believe if items are deemed unworthy that they are being donated when they are not!

Every time I come here it’s very complicated to consign or they aren’t taking stuff at that time. Even though it’s clearly posted that they should be. I will no longer waste my time bringing them my stuff. It’s been 3x now of trudging over there to have them turn me away or say they are done taking stuff for the day when it’s within their supposed hours.

This location used to be a great, but unfortunately my last few visits have been poor experiences. To start, consigning has become very tricky. Many times I show up and they have ceased accepting drop offs for the day. This can very disheartening after loading a car of items. But moreover, the staff has become increasingly unfriendly. No joke, I have been snapped at three times recently: once because I proceeded to the only line with people waiting, but I didn't first get a slip. There was no clear signage as to what to do, and employees have always printed my slip for me after standing in the line I had been in. Second because I accidentally placed clothes on the incorrect rack after trying on. Again, no clear signage. And thirdly because I asked (politely) for a receipt after the employee didn't print one after a purchase. This all is in addition to experiencing a general "moodiness" from most employees. I say all this realizing they've been severely short staffed for months. However, as someone who's worked low staff customer service or retail jobs, this pattern is just unacceptable. I'm not sure what's going on, but obviously the staff is unhappy and I hope management sees this and wakes up. I've asked a couple friends of mine who also have been there, and they agree. I think Stuff Etc. could be such an AMAZING option for secondhand shoppers, and I truly hope it's able to find the help and resources to become happier and expand its intake capacity.

I love Stuff Etc! It's super close to my home and the staff is fun and creative. It's nice to be able to take the items you don't want but don't want to throw away, to a place that will price it and sell it. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I call and have money in my account. I can use the amount in-store on purchases or I can cash it out. They have such cute clothes and my son always finds something fun and reasonably priced. It's a great feeling to drop off unwanted items and it's profitable. They even donate the items they can't sell. Taking a weight off my shoulders. You can't beat the experience or the convenience of Stuff!

As a consighnor, I appreciate the responsiveness of the manager. Anyone can have issues, but a true leader will take accountability and work to make things right. This is the attitude that will keep me selling quality items at Stuff Etc, in Clive.Thank you for being trustworthy and attending to your buyers, but also those of us who have items to sell.

Always find treasures and spend too much money. Also, great place to buy high quality secondhand clothes. Got my husband a Grunt Style shirt he had been wanting to order for $5.49. It was a stupid good price!!

Great news is I've gotten told that they get furniture, like bedding, chairs, and couches all the time, he said during the summer things come in a bit slow but in the winter business picks up alot more . I actually like this place better than Goodwill

It's okay. Hit 'n miss on items. I'm not sure who does the pricing but way too high at times. Good variety of items and if you're looking for things, I certainly wouldn't rule it out!

Wasn't bad inside had a lot of nice things also had newer things. Good prices, only bad experience I had was at check out. Put all of my thing up on the counter and the cashier Annika was fine up until handing back my change. She didn't tell me out much change I would be getting back. She also seemed to have overall an attitude.
