I emailed problems about a washing machine over the weekend and Dan called me the following week and seemed to be knowledgeable and helpful. However, he advised that my washer was not worth fixing and looked up the part from the model number I provided in a photograph in my email. He said this part like many others are no longer available. However, after doing some independent research, I found all sorts of resources and in stock valves for $30 to fix the machine he suggested I replace. There’s no reason I should’ve been given that advice and could’ve cost me thousands when a $30 part would fix the issue.

I’m not sure what’s going on with some of these reviews, but “Dan Can Fix It” is a great company.When I had an issue with my fridge, they were able to come out next day, when other companies said they won’t come to my area.The technician was very knowledgeable, kind, and professional. He explained the issue that I was having, and we decided to purchase a new fridge due to the age, and lack of spare parts available for my unit.I highly recommend using these guys if you run into any appliance issues.Thank you guys!!

I had a Kitchen Aid refrigerator that stopped working. Dan Can Fix It was contacted through my American Home Shield coverage. They came out to my home and proceeded to tell me that my fridge was over 5 years old and needed to be replaced. They stated that they would contact my American Home Shield to put in the necessary paperwork. In the mean time I could not be with out a fridge (it was August in Iowa...) I then went to replace the fridge. Two months later Dan Can Fix It called stating that my parts were in. I then had to remind them that they told me to replace my appliance and again they said they would put in the necessary paperwork to be reimbursed for my purchase. I called AHS and they said they had no such document on file. I texted with Dan Can Fix It and he said he put in paperwork. When I asked for a copy, Dan stated that it is all online and he didn't have a copy. I then asked for a date for the claim that was placed online, which his reply was that he didn't know that either. I am now left paying for my fridge and yet he got paid (I confirmed with AHS)Service: Refrigerator/freezer repair

The company owner came to my home last week and took payment for parts down payment and service call now doesn't answer or return my calls and I still don't know if he has ordered parts or if he is planning to finish the service work. In addition he opened an incorrect gas valve in my utility room and it spewed gas outside for the evening into the next day. My neighbor informed me and I called Mid America energy they came and solved the problem but I will have an extensive gas bill because of his neglect. BUYER BEWARE this individual is dangerous and almost caused an explosion that may of hurt someone. He is also unethical and took money for parts and didn't order. I highly recommend not using this company.Service: Stove & cooktop repair

I called to ask some questions about servicing or replacing our current washer and the tech who responded was very helpful and informative. Even though we didn't end up hiring them for repairs (they recommended replacing) they were still courteous and responsive. If and when I do need repairs, they will be at the top of my list!Also of note- they were one of the few places who work on LG machines in the Des Moines area.
