Hello, I recently had an unfortunate experience with the store's return policy. I purchased a gift for someone, but when they tried to return it, they were informed that only store credit was allowed. While I understand that every store has its own policies, this particular policy feels a bit restrictive and disappointing. It seems unfair that the person receiving the gift is being punished in this situation. I wanted to share my frustration and disappointment with you in the hope that maybe there could be some reconsideration or flexibility regarding this policy. I believe that a more customer-friendly approach to returns, I will not return.

I had a terrible experience at this store they lack morals and values. Additionally, selections are poor and store is poorly organized. I would strongly advise against buying any gifts here as it would feel like throwing your money in the trash, especially if the recipient doesn't like the items. This store and its workers have ruined Christmas for me. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated.

Buyer beware! My husband purchased a birthday gift for me one week ago and I tried to return it today with the gift receipt and was told we could not get a refund but store credit only. My husband was with me and the same gentleman who helped him was present at the store. The person helping us said we could only get a refund with the “original receipt.” We want to support localbusinesses but this was such a disappointing experience. My husband was not made aware of the gift receipt policy when he bought the shoes and unfortunately misplaced the “original receipt.”I have $150 credit now to a store I have no desire to visit again.

I'm a long distance backpacker. I have a few things from a company called Arcteryx, and was looking for an authorized dealer. I went to their website and this shop popped up as a dealer location. I was intrigued since I hadn't heard of it before. I have to admit that when I first walked in, I thought I was in the wrong place. The front of the store isn't really outdoor gear. I lot of it is women's casual clothing. Then I started noticing things in the back. They have a pretty extensive collection of Darn Tough wool socks. Many of the styles were limited edition ones that I've never seen anywhere else. They had some other outdoorsy clothes in the back. I was impressed with the amount of Marmot items they carry. There were some outdoor gear items in a small section in the very back, but it doesn't seem to be a big part of their business. One of the items that stood out to me was the Sea to Summit Aeros inflatable travel pillow. I wish II'd had one of those for my flights to and from Hawaii earlier this year. The cost is similar to a regular travel pillow, but it's inflatable so it doesn't take up much space when you aren't using it. I asked about the Arcteryx gear. They said Arcteryx doesn't work with small shops like them anymore. It isn't their fault that they're still listed as a dealer, but I was disappointed about it. However, I expect I'll head back in a month or so when they get their winter stock in. I suspect they'll have some good winter jackets and gloves, and I really want to take a closer look at all the Darn Tough styles they had. Wool socks are so good for keeping your feet warm in the winter. And I just might pick up an Aeros pillow while I'm there, too.

This is my go to shop for travel purchases. It seems that they only sell solid gear with great warranties. Most recently I needed a receipt for a 4+ year old dry bag. Jay was able to access the receipt within minutes and emailed it to me. I was able to complete my warranty request the same day and a new product will be sent shortly. Buy local!

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love shopping here, but when I do, my wallet hates me. They always have great products and everything is competitively priced. I just buy more than my wallet appreciates.

A welcoming atmosphere and personal service is always the main focus for my personal experiences. Back Country delivers! It's the small business vibe and unique high quality merchandise that makes me feel good when I leave. Oh yeah, TheAwesomeSales and SeasonalDiscounts have something to do with it, too. : )
