Positive experience. Tires are working well so far, no issues. Nicole was kind and professional and deserves a vacation.

Bait and switch! These people clearly told me one thing on the phone and then tried to lie me into grossly exaggerated costs(they attempted to tell me the AC compressor has to come off to do the job and I know there is no procedure that requires or even suggests that, after I had it towed in). Once I called them on their dishonesty they promptly refused to work on my vehicle. Great business model guys!

I would not recommend this shop. Came in for fuel pump replacement ended up paying over 1400 for that. As I looked over my receipt i well over paid for the fuel pump. Almost 600 when I could have bought at same place for less then 200 (orileys). Im current talking to attorneys to sue. I also brought my receipt to different location and they were even confused on price.

I really don’t like leaving bad reviews because I believe every deserves the benefit of the doubt, but here we are. I went in to have my tires flipped on the rims as I had uneven wear, they were not willing to do that due to safety issues supposedly. That’s fine, I can accept that. They told me that my front strut assemblies needed replaced and was likely causing the uneven wear on the tires and I also accept that. They did that work and all seems fine there. Nicole was very friendly and easy to work with. They were fast and got me in without issue. My issue is that I’m now missing a lug nut because they didn’t appropriately tighten them on and it’s now gone. I take partial blame for that for not checking after 50 miles to make sure it was done right. I now have to contact Fuel to get another lug as they don’t just sell replacements. I’m also hoping I didn’t damage anything else on the rim after driving without a lug for who knows how long. My final issue is the fact that one of my $400 rims is pretty beat up. I’m guessing they used an air ratchet to remove the deep set lugs and after scratching the life out of my first rim they switched to another system to remove the rest. The work itself done to the truck seems fine, but the missing lug and scratched up rims has brought me to leave a bad review. The picture attached shows the black coating removed from the rim where their tool likely rubbed on the rim. I now have the hassle of getting a replacement lug and the concern of the damage that may or may not have been done having been without one for an untold amount of time. Again they were friendly people who otherwise seemed to do fine work, but if you have specialty rims I would be hesitant to go here.

Went in asking about releasing pressure in my Car AC. They quoted me $250 for a fix. I went to O'Reilly on Army Post and Mike fixed it in 5 minutes for free. This is why I don't go to big named mechanics anymore. All about the money

I came in here with a Groupon coupon to get an alignment done. Car X told me I need $2000 worth of suspension work before they could align me.
They lied. I took it to a shop down the street and got aligned no problem.
I THEN TOOK A 4 DAY 2000 MILE ROAD TRIP WITH ZERO ISSUES.
This mechanic had me thinking my car wouldn't make it down the street!
What's really silly is i was willing to have them do about $1000 worth of work but because I didn't have $2000 they refused to do any work at all! And it turns out I didn't need any of the work anyways!
When there's so many shops in the Des Moines market i would choose anywhere else but here!!

The manager Nicole was super friendly. This place is awesome. I didn’t have an appointment but they didn’t have a problem getting me right in. Replaced 2 tires and all my brakes. I got my car back the same day! I highly recommend this place.

Charges more than other auto repair shops, up sells, and might not exactly fix the problem for the long term.
I went in for coolant repair- wasn’t cooling off radiator. Was sold parts, labor and tire jobs, about two weeks later, same overheating issue.
So, they do some work but know what you need done, inspect it afterwards and know about the parts they put in.

My wife was hearing a knocking in the front of our car. We went to the CarX at 3901 Se 14th st Des Moines. Nichole and Rob were on duty. Rob took our car for a drive and came back to say that we needed front brakes and wheel bearings, and a fluid flush. Nichole advised us it would be around 3 1/2 hr. Rob was so great at his work, he got it done in 2 hrs. Rob and Nichole are very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. We go to this store for oil changes also

Great service and honest people who care! I ended up taking my car here for a 2nd opinion for an alignment after a different mechanic supposedly completed an alignment on my car. My car was not safe to drive when i got it back from the other shop. I took it to Car-X for a 2nd opinion. SO GLAD i DID!!! Car-X was able to align my car, and now it drives like it should. Car-X has a new customer. They are honest and care about your safety! Will be back.

Nicole was super kind and understanding she helped with understanding my prices, what I’m getting since I had no idea what I was doing and was able to fit me in to the schedule same day. She fr deserves a raise or some kind of reward for how amazing she is!!

My brother in law was passing through from Minnesota to Texas. Thought he noticed a shimmy so the tech took it for a drive and put it on a lift to ensure everything was tight. Didn’t charge anything and put his mind at ease.

Waste of time the employees especially that lady at the front test unprofessional communication will leave you ever happy with there work this lady had wasted my time and wanting charge me 500$ for alignment when I heard and her co workers say charge him more and just tell him labor insane work.
