If you want to learn more about Drake West Village, talk with Isaac. Until we found Isaac, we had so many unanswered questions. He answered all of them so thoroughly and politely. He even gave us a tour of the facilities (although no apartments were open to tour those). We followed-up with several more questions by email and phone and Isaac was very responsive and informative. Drake West Village is lucky to have him. He made our experience very enjoyable.

Really appreciate the width of the hallways. Neat and well maintained. Security doors work great. Close to class, food & transportation. Tenants feel safe.

I have had a great experience working with them. Isaac has helped me through it all and has been able to answer all of my questions as I am coming from out of state.

Drake West has completely been unwilling to assist students in any way during covid time. Unreal.

This apartment complex, while offering moderately nice ammenities and living space, is an absolute nightmare to live in. The management team, specifically Caleb Stein and Meghan Armstrong, are completely unwilling to work with tenets. If you have any kind of situation with the lease that would require talking to one of them (such as a lease extension, early termination, moving rooms, moving spaces within a room, subletting, you name it) you are out of luck. Not only are they completely unwilling to work with their residents in any of these situations, they demand a hefty fee for any kind of change. They refuse to prorate their apartments despite having a move in and move out date in the middle of the month. If you try to sign a lease for a partial year, even if you have someone to replace you, they will charge a $200 fee. If you graduate and need to leave early, not only will they refuse to help find a replacement tenet, they will also not allow the lease to be extended into the next year (or even through the summer) so any replacement you do find will be out of a living arrangement for at least 2-3 weeks until their new lease can start up.Furthermore, their management mishandles even simple tasks. On several occasions, my guarantor and I have been notified of a past due notice for either rent or utility when the bill had either just been delivered or already paid, in both scenarios well before the bill is due. Their office hours during J term and the summer could be more appropriate, especially for those who work during the summer. The only reason I give this location 2 stars is that the maintenance staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Also, the furnishings and living areas are very nice.If you expect to have any kind of situation where you may need to modify your lease terms, or length (even before you sign), you are likely out of luck, and I do not recommend living here.Regarding the customer service response, it is untrue that a majority of the policies I mentioned are in the lease agreement. The lease agreement refers to several things. The $200 charge is specified for changing apartments, NOT changing living spaces within an apartment (which we tried to do to share the smaller room with the ventilator unit). It does not mention a refusal to prorate, it does not mention that you will be given past-due notices when the bill has been paid and well in advance. The lease terms do not mention that the complex will refuse to help fill vacancies for an early termination, and they do not specify that they are unwilling to work with tenents who may need to graduate and leave early. Summer hours are not mentioned in the lease, and a refusal to cooperate or work with tenets (as any normal business would do) is missing too.In fact, the only policies I mentioned that are in the elase are vague policies for moving aparments, early termination, and a horribly worded subletting portion which does not include details about the sublet period for the new tenet. In this case, a majority of the issues I mentioned are not included. Also, my complaint with Meghan and Caleb are not with that they write the policies, but rather that they are unhelpful in providing information or working with tenets in the situations. And the customer service team has already 'heard' my feedback by reading this post.I'm just trying to increase awareness for new potential residents.

Great place to live. Response time to any problems is great. We had some problems with our dishwasher and our tv and someone was there the same day to fix it. Right across from campus so it's super convenient.

If you are a grad student that likes/needs it quiet, I would not recommend living here. The walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbor’s conversations through the walls while I’m reading/sleeping. They do not separate undergrads and grad students so you could end up living next to loud college kids who throw parties on Tuesday nights with no option to switch to a different room. (I was kept up till 3am the night of my law final). If noise doesn’t bother you, this place is a convenient, modern, community-centered apartment with great amenities. 3 minute walk to campus. Near a Subway/McDonald’s/Drake Dining. Safe area.
