I found Either/Or on The Community Best of Iowa website because they won the Honorable Mention award for 2023 "best eatery." I know that thecommunitybest dot.com is rather selective and wouldn't hand this distinction out without merit, so I stopped in for lunch the other day! I kept it simple and ordered their popular Smashburger and fries. The burger was delicious, the restrooms clean, the staff friendly and engaging, and the atmosphere refreshing. I will definitely be back when the patio opens!

I heard about Either/Or in the food lovers Facebook group and wanted to try it… not even realizing it’s down the street from my work ? so this week I stopped in over my lunch break and ordered a salad to go.I’ve been recommended to eat more beets because I’m trying to eat more healthy and this beet salad with beet vinaigrette was simply BEETiful ?It far surpassed my expectations and was simply delicious! A little expensive but hey good food is costing more these days. Also I love the location with the artistic exterior and interior. I love the kids playground and outdoor seating area. The staff was really friendly and welcoming and my waitress was very helpful and professional.I’ll give this place 1000/10!!!

Food was tasty, service was quick and the place was beautiful. Enjoyed playing outside with our kiddos and even appreciated the fire pits on a cool day! The mimosa was delicious, kids enjoyed their chicken fingers, adults liked the salmon salad and chicken fried chicken.

Visited during a weeknight of Des Moines area spring break. This place was busy. Luckily the restaurant was well staffed and able to accommodate seating without anyway at all. One downfall being that parking is limited. Overflow seem to go to the neighboring soccer field parking lot. Very busy as children were out of school common great outdoor patio, seating options with a large grassy area and place it for kids. So many food and drink options, accommodating to food, allergies, and preferences. They were able to make adjustments to my meal as well.

Fun restaurant with great vibes inside or outside. Bring the family to play outdoors, chill, and socialize, or enjoy cocktails and dinner on a date or with friends. There is something for everyone on the menu! Staff are friendly and there is an overflow parking area right next to the restaurant.

We rode our bikes up to the restaurant. It was delicious food, right off the trail, and had a great place to sit outside before we finished our ride! We will be going back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free is marked on the menu!!!

We’ve tried Either/or two times & both times have left slightly disappointed. EO Burger + sandwiches were soggy after a few bites. Brussel sprouts were good, but not enough to make this a go to spot. Everything was just “ok”. I will say, atmosphere alone is amazing, just wish the food lived up to the hype. Good place for drinks & letting the kids run around, but not our first choice for dinner.

While the food is OK (nothing special), Either/Or engages in several ways to rip-off the customer - 1) the lunch menu includes 2 sides, while the dinner menu includes 1 side, which seems counter-intuitive - the lunch salad was billed as an additional $1 - I asked the server and she was not aware of this - I asked if this was stated on the menu - after asking the manager, she told me it was; 2) the lunch was severed with a very small sandwich and a large portion of french fries, so the main attraction of the meal was very small; 3) the bill came with a 3% service charge for using a credit card, a higher fee than many other restaurants. I would recommend "Neither" to Either/Or - the food is just OK, and there are many hidden fees
