Beautiful parliament, beautiful architecture.Especially if you are not familiar with the Midwest and are just “driving through” Des Moines, this detour is worth it.

Visitors to the Capitol will go through a short health screening at the security checkpoint. It is recommended for visitors to wear a mask. The gift shop is not open. Daily tours are suspended for the time being. All tours must be scheduled in advance.
