Southridge Mall, located in Des Moines, is a charming open-air shopping center that offers a diverse mix of retail stores, restaurants, and services. Visitors can find popular shops like CitiTrends, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, Target, PetCo, Shoe Carnival, and Maurice's. Dining options include the highly praised New China Buffet and Hy-Vee. In 2024, the Genesis Health Club Sports Complex will be joining the mall, enhancing its appeal. Despite some past challenges with store closures, Southridge Mall is seeing positive changes and has maintained a clean and welcoming atmosphere. It offers a variety of stores, making it a convenient place for shoppers. Families enjoy the little courtyard area, and the presence of security adds a sense of safety. While the mall is relatively small, it is well-stocked with stores that cater to different needs, making it a good destination for finding bargains. While some visitors noted the mall's appearance from the parking lot as foreboding, they found that the fun shops and friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable experience. Overall, Southridge Mall stands out as a unique shopping destination in a time when many malls are struggling.

A good few stores here, with DART access. The mall interior is empty, but you can still walk through it, and it's an unexpectedly nice touch. It's a historic showcase of what was once a fully occupied mall, where many people went to hang out or get what they needed. I hope they keep it preserved.

Well, I know that a lot of the mall has shut up for many years. But things are looking up. There is new health club/bar where Sears used to be.
